Will I ever learn...

cityits......... Good term and I know what your saying. Recently we put our home up for sale. We have a house, garage and small barn on 10.6 acres in a rural location about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh and with 400 feet of frontage on a small river.

The house has been on the market for about a week now and have had 2 or 3 showings every day since it was listed. We have been inundated with comments like "we love the house but the river scares me" . Another is "will we need a riding mower?" but the best was this:

There is a state owned game lands open to public hunting adjacent to our property. This is clearly mentioned in the advertisement. A realtor recently brought a couple from Pittsburgh who obviously never have been out of the hood. The question of the game lands and hunting came up and I explained that hunting is allowed and that I partake in the activity myself. As I was explaining this, the young woman's eyes grew large as saucers and asked in a terrified tone "do you actually hear gunshots" I answered yes but the difference is that gun shot are a common occurrence here but unlike where you come from, it's not necessary to duck for cover or hide under a bed when you hear them............

They left afer the showing and I don't think I will be seeing them for a follow up..........
