if it has the head and exhaust manifold on it. if you can pass the wide part of your thumb between the ext manifold and water pump casting it is a 225. the 170 is to close to pass your thumb thru.
This is a damn neat way of telling the difference in the field! THANKS! No space its the 170, fit thumb in behind its the 225. what about the 198? Anything?
These motors are probably AFTER 1970, if not 1970 till the end of production run. SO........ I would assume the slant I'm looking for/at is actually a 198 or 225.....
