what about a 413

This thread got my attention because I almost picked up a 413 on Saturday. It was supposed to be out of a mid '70s RV and included its 727. I didn't even know they made a 413 RV engine. I can get a 440 out of a mid '70s RV, a BB 727, and a Dana 60 housing for $250 more than the 413. I passed on this. Does it sound like a deal? I don't NEED the 413 or the 440 since I've got a '74 440 and 727 out of a C body I'm not using right now. But you can never have too many BB engines floating around, can you?

Be sure you check them out before buying. There are some odd configurations that make some of them unsuitable for passenger car use.
I had a 1970 motor home with a 413. These are very low compression as they are designed to run on regular fuel. I think mine has something like 265 hp on the breather. Mine has the weird water pump setup that fed directly into the heads. It also has a short tail shaft trans with an emergency brake setup on it.
I've also had a couple of 440s that came out of motor homes. Both of these had conventional water pump setups but had short tail shaft trans. I heard the trans had an extra clutch pack or something that made them beefier.
