Edelbrock heads Vs Jheads

Hey Guys

I have been looking into buying a set of Edelbrock heads for my 340 demon for some time now. I recently came across a machine shop that has a set of jheads in stock that has some work done to them.

i don't know to much about the engine as it is new to me but the engine is 1970 340, 750 holly dp, edelbrock ld340, and a set of full length heads not sure of brand.

I wanted edelbrock for the cool factor and the performance upgrade. but after find these heads im not sure what i should buy. The price is about the same.

This is the info on the Jhead from the shop Jheads fresh valve job, New 2.02/1.60 valves stainless(undercut) #3418915 E no springs, with seals/bronze liners and Serdi 4 angle valve job, surfaced ready to go $ 1500 pr

IMO, there is no way I would drop $1500 on a set of J heads. Unless the J's are heavily ported they won't even get close to the flow of the stock Edelbrocks....and the Eddy's have room to grow if you decide to port them for more power....AND the Eddy's will knock a bunch of weight off the front of the car (if I recall correctly they are either 40 or 80 lbs lighter than iron heads).

For what its worth, my car (the Barracuda in my sig) uses ported Edelbrocks with a small roller cam.
