Excited! Just ordered mancini xhd leaf springs, shackles, rear shocks, pst quick ratio kit, pst front and rear sway bar, and pst 1.08 torsion bars! Weekend should be busy and hopefully my rear tires stop bottoming out and rubbing when turning!

I'll take some before pics and post em as I go. The quick ratio steering kit says it doesn't work with some long tube headers. I called pst and told em I had headmans and they said they should be fine. Crossing my fingers cause the kit looks nice and was about the same price as the stock pieces

Good luck.

We just put new KH disc brakes, Just Suspension 1.00 torsion bars and sway bar and all new front suspension (ball joints, tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm, etc) on my son's 71j Valiant more-door.

Now to put new Super stock rear springs and sway bar in the rear this week... :violent1:

Do you have headman shorties?

The long fast ratio arm will not work on an A-body with stock hipo manifolds even.

Krazykuda, did you notice a difference when you rebuilt the front end? The headmans are long tube but they said they would work. There were a couple other brands they had listed as compatable. I hope they're correct I'll be annoyed if they're wrong and I have to send it back.

Sounds like a great build up.
I used the same springs in my duster, I would throw a 1" lowering block in the rear.
With springs and shackles the rear will sit real high.
Run the blocks for a while until the springs settle down.

I'm hoping they don't settle too far, my rear tires hit the inner wheel wells when I hit bumps now and rub the inner fender in corners. I'm hoping the new springs and rear sway bar will remedy it lol

In this pic you can tell how close the front tire is to the fender from the bent k member

Headers that DO fit:

Schumacher:A bodies W/Tri-Y and 440 (High Deck)

Every other header is listed as not working.

I think the guy at PST gave you the information for a B/E body. Or/and assumed all Mopars were the same.

Difference in what?

We have the new suspension components in, new 1.000" torsion bars, and new KH disc brakes. We have to install the front sway bar still.

Right now we are working on the rear suspension and axle. We had a broken tap in the rear spring hanger mount that we just got out yesterday. Now we need to see if we need to helicoil or not. And build up the axle (brake lines, brakes) and get it ready to install.

Then we can finally get it down on wheels. :violent1:

Then do the sway bars (front and rear).

Then we have to install the dash board and finish installing the new wiring harness.

Then we can install the engine and trans and see how it sits..... :banghead:

We are going to run 68-70 stock 340 exhaust manifolds, so I can't tell you how the headers will go in. (not to mention our engine is not in yet either).

I can't tell you how it is yet, as we haven't put the tires on it yet as we are not done with it...

Here's with no suspension:

Well I got the leafs installed, sorry ill post a pic later but they lifted the rear end up a bunch. I got the k-member painted and installed all the pst equipment (sway bar kit, fast ratio steering kit, and QA1 strut rods) to the k-member. I still have to figure out how I want to go about the install. My driveway is a hill and my garage is packed! In addition I have to change my oil pan gasket because I screwed up and got a one piece seal, it leaks so I did some research on here and found out the one piece seals are only for magnums. Any suggestions? I was thinking of jacking the car up, putting it on jack stands and using the cherry picker to hold the motor. Drop the k member and suspension and replace the gasket from the bottom. Think it will work or am I gonna have to pull the motor?

That is some fine machinery there! Thanks for the pics. Are you bolting on the LCAs B4 installing X member? Did you re-enforce your LCAs? Do they have factory sway bar tabs?

Oh yeah. Watch the new shackles for the rear leafs from Mancini. DO NOT TORQUE THEM TO SERVICE MANUAL SPEC. THEY WILL BREAK.

Just snug them.

I've done this too many times. I always order a spare set just in case I break one.

Hate to say it; the KYB can't handle the load cycling of those bars, look it up; need the bilstien, or adjustables.

Poison dart, can you explain what you mean regarding load cycles? I think you may have gone over my head there lol. I got everything installed yesterday and all seems like a vast improvement. I have an appointment today for an alignment and found some improved specs to use. Hopefully it will be improved again with the new specs. I don't have subframe connectors yet so I'm sure the benefits from the front and rear sway bars are not being fully utilized.

Unfortunatly, I forgot to note, the PST quick steer kit did not work with the headman headers.
