Ups crooks

UPS blows!
I only have items shipped from the US by USPS.

For you guys in Ontario that want to buy something from Summit you should try 2Kool. They are a Summit distributor in Ontario and ship at a reasonable price right to your door. They will quote the exact itemized price with tax and shipping and there are no surprises at the door.
They do not take credit cards.
I have used them a number of times and I've never been able to beat their prices locally.

So how do you pay these guys 2kool?

E transfer through online banking is how I pay.
Just give them the Summit part numbers in an email and get a quote to your door and they will itemize each product price and show the total with shipping and tax.
Send them the money and you can track your item so you know when it will be delivered to your door.
They are awesome to deal with.

BEWARE OF 2KOOL.....THINK BEFORE YOU BUY FROM HIM..!!!!!!!!!!

I have dealt with him and have had problems !!!!!!!!

But nice looking web site.

Firstly, he wants CASH up front so there is no ABSOLUTELY no recourse ...

Two, He doesn't warranty anything...I had a problem with a TCI shifter that I had bought. I had my mechanic install it.. this guy is good..he even was a member of a pit crew that ran Porsches... I have never seen him stumped. Anyway, within a day, I was having problems. So I contacted 2Kool to see about the warranty on this unit (there is one). So the owner of 2kool says to me that TCI has never had any problems with there products and I must be lying. Huh ? He REFUSED to do anything..

I called up TCI in the states and had another unit shipped to me...apparently, I wasn't the only one having problems with this shifter...

Just my experience...

Wow, I'm really surprised.
Myself and anyone that I know who has dealt with them have never had a problem but then again this is the first time I've heard of someone returning something.
I was reluctant at first because of the cash payment up front but I've never had a problem and have spent thousands.

If you order directly from anyone in the US and something is wrong with the part how does that work if you have to return it and you live in Ontario? Shipping is a killer and most places won't cover the return shipping. I guess there are advantages buying from a local shop and paying more.

In this case, TCI covered the return shipping.

Buddy protects himself by demanding cash up front so you might as well be dealing with a kijiji seller 2 provinces over.

He also used to change his prices daily based on the exchange rate...not sure if he still does now.. or are his prices still in US bucks ?..i cannot remember..I do know what he quoted me and a couple days later when I sent the monies, it was more...

Yes, that is the kicker..if you have to return something....if he doesn't, then you have to deal with Summit directly...not sure how that would work because they wholesale to him..

I try very hard to buy in Canada and in doing so, have found some things cheaper here..surprises me as well. The key is to factor in the shipping..and if coming across the border, duties and taxes ..and if you go usps, you tend to avoid those charges but it depends where the package crosses the border..

I was quite surprised to see 2kool still in business.

Sometimes full service costs more than fly by nighters but in the end, they may be cheaper...

I apologize for this rant but he (the owner) left a very bad taste in my mouth.. and I have never had trouble returning something back to the US...

Ian.

I know National Moparts is a very busy place and if you tell Nigel that Craig Cox says help me.. He will! I have known him for over 25 years..Long storey but he has grown is business big time and runs around like a chicken with it's head cut off most times..Just my opinion..
Ive known Nigel for over 30 years, great guy very knowledgeable, over worked yes. He will usually work with you, as Craig says. As far as UPS F$%k them, I had parts arrive with a huge brokerage fee etc,etc..I refused the shipment...I disputed it, they lowered it and delivered it the next day but they will try and screw you.

Thanks Wally I know you guys have great relationships with Nigel , that is why he was the first person I called and if you read my post you will see I was very clear with him that I wanted to buy from him and not Summit and if he would have given me a total on the sale he would have got my business , for the record he still hasn't called me with a total and it is now a week later , I will give him another chance soon when I order a replacement mirror , hopefully it is a stock item and he will be able to complete a transaction without any call back nonsense .we'll see how bad the anal raping is from FEDEX on this one probably Friday since that is the scheduled DDay according to tracking .

Holy crap I won the Fedex Lottery , they delivered today on schedule and no extra charges , I was waiting in the front room listening for the truck because I figured he would toss the 60 lb package out the back door onto the street before wheeling it up the walk but -- Fedex is using Ninjas to make there deliveries , I picked up the community paper with the flyers in it off the front porch at 9:40 and sat in the front room listening for the truck , at 9:50 I took the paper and flyers back out to the recycling bin and tripped over the package , Ninjas I tell ya , check the pics in the Moparfest thread and you will see the front off my place , my door is all the way to the left of the porch and he got up there and gone without making a sound I swear . As for the wheels $312 Cdn to my door , now if they are straight and true I truly have won the Fedex Lottery .

UPS blows, been there done that. For about 6 months now Summit ships to canada with FedEx ground option that includes ALL charges at the time of purchase. My last three orders have cost me nothing extra on delivery, glad they finally did something to help us Canucks out a bit.
But it's still crap, considering the delivery is over an imaginary line when the rest of the lower 48 gets it for free!

I agree the no free shipping to Canada blows but at least we get the US pricing on the parts , in my case I still saved 90 bucks at least compared to the Canadian price probably more since I never got the actual final total from the Canadian suppliers so I am estimating the tax shipping , the wheels were 61-64 bucks cheaper each depending on the supplier.

I once sent someone a Brita water filter system. I took it to UPS and paid them to PACK AND SHIP it, and asked them to make sure that it is properly packed. When it got to the person, the carrier literally threw it on their porch and left. The box was mangled and the container was broken at the bottom and wouldn't hold any water. It wasn't properly insulated when packed, which I paid them to do.

I went to UPS to claim the damage and asked for them to cover the cost of a new Brita (which I had bought another one). They started a "claim", but NEVER SETTLED IT. When I called the "national" line, they said to take it up with the independant owner. The "independant owner" of the UPS store that I went to told to take it up with "national".

Meanwhile, I bought a replacement and asked them to ship it "next day" as the first one was sent in time for Christmas and if they sent it regular UPS, it would not get there in time for Christmas. They had the balls to ask me to PAY them to ship the replacement. I told them that I don't reward poor performance with more business and would send it with the Post Office.

When i went to the Post Office, they were able to ship it so it arrived within two days for $10 cheaper than UPS price to send it (which would have taken 5 or more days). And this was just shipping within the US!!!

No more UPS for me.

I will use USPS and FedEx until they rip me off worse than UPS. Luckily they haven't so far...

I've been using USPS for all my orders been burned enough by UPS. Also watch when buying on EBay some are using this global shipping program which again charges you a surcharge to cover brokerage fees and duties which they should not be charging when shipping a used part.

I bought a set of mounts from a member on here and he shipped them UPS
They attempted to ship today but i wasnt home.I read the slip and it says i owe $165 for a set of mounts i payed $125 for WTF:banghead:

Your own government is taxing the **** out of you, and UPS and FedEx are helping collect that money, and then some. I got burned on a few packages shipped to Canada, and even when I used USPS, they wanted me to lie on the customs forms, and complained about the time it took to arrive, and shipping cost. I won't ship an item without insurance. I won't lie on government forms. I've bought and sold a lot of stuff online, but I really don't like shipping to Canada. The last item I "sent" to Canada, I took up there, myself. The border guards were really confused. I told them I was taking an 8.75" rear end to someone in BC, and they wanted me to produce receipts. I told them it was a product manufactured in north america, and was from a car sold in 1970. I had no receipts, and no one should be taxed on it. I had to fill out a ton of forms, and got to hang out at the border for a while. Fun stuff. I did end up having a nice vacation up near Lake Louise and Banff.

I hear what your saying
I know the government want their piece of the pie but i bought and oil pan from a member south of the border and i only had to pay $66 and that was shipped USPS

Hi Guys, like I said at the beginning of the thread, take the drive to the US stay for dinner if you like and then drive back. But be HONEST at the border most of the time they are car guys and want to hear your story on the car your building. Make sure you tell them its for an antique car you are building and parts are hard to come by or the supplier wont ship to Canada. Hey whats the worse that will happen...you have to pay 13% tax,but its still a bargain

My son just bought some ATV parts from a guy on EBay using that Global shipping crap. They lost the package, and won't lift a finger to help find it. He's contacted the seller, Ebay and PayPal with claims. We'll see what happens....

When was the last time you ordered from Summit and had it shipped to your door?

I have a last minute rush order I need to make, and using fedex ground shipping, it says 20 to ship, 77 for duty/taxes...I called Summit, and the supervisor said he is almost certain there is no brokerage fees on top of that, but does not know for sure.

I would really like to order this to my door instead of crossing the border as I usually do when I order from them
summit has an option when checking out.

Use Fed ex and there will be no extra charges when it arrives at your door. I have used them on numerous occasions and never have any issues. You have already paid the taxes to summit racing as they have the tax licence to collect for our government. If i remember right the packages always say "tax collected" or "customs cleared" when shipped.
