if you are using a 360 engine with no a/c and a 3 core radiator what size cap would be the best 7/psi? 16/psi?

What year model Radiator ? The older model won't hold very much pressure compared to the later models, lower pressure or it could split at the seams...... I would try a 12 to 13 lb and see how it does and unless it is pucking out antifreeze I would stay there if it stay's cool ..then go up from there

I think its out of a 77 van and if u have a radiator and it spits the fluid back up does that mean its clogged? or the cap is to much for it
If it is up to temperature and you park it (shut engine off) then it pukes in to the over flow bottle from the cap hose it it is doing it's job, it will pull the water back into the engine.
The engine temps climbs fast after the engine is shut down..... is this happening as you drive under regular driving conditions as the engine is running ? If so,... on that radiator, I would think a 16 lb cap is fine to begin with, your old cap seal could be leaking and not sealing to the radiator

Use a flash lite and look threw your fins make sure the 3 rowe radiator is not plugged up from bugs, dirt and stuff so your fan can move air threw it :glasses7: remember these radiators need air to cross threw them to cool, some folks say a two core can cool just as good because air flows threw them easier, I have seen mud pore off the fins just buy useing a easy flow water hose on them.. Have you flushed the cooling system yet ?

no I havent flushed it I was just asking because on my other car the every time you would turn the car off it would spit fluid up there was no flowover bottle on it

That radiator with a 360 engine calls for a 16 psi radiator cap.

It is a part of maintanance to replace your radiator cap, the spring will weaken and the rubber seal will deteriorate :glasses7: lets get an overflow bottle on your other car,and do a flush on the 360 and radiator to be ready for the summer heat, and I would go with what Oklacarcollecto said, he provides us with great info when we need it :cheers:
