Yes, that's what I was thinking, but technically the 318 wasn't offered in an early A, only the 273. The LA 318 started in 67/68 and therefore was not put in an early A-body. Is there any difference in the early 273 pan (specifically 64-66) than with the 318 pan.
I know from experience that it makes a difference on the slant 6 pan. The later pans will not fit the early a-body as the steering linkages will interfere with the oil pan. The early pans had more dimples so they didn't interfere/limit the steering linkages.
That's why I'm asking if anyone who has installed a 360 into an early a has had any problems, or did it drop right in. I'm thinking and hoping that it will just drop in. I would like to hear from people who have done it, if it worked or what they did to make it fit to be sure.
