Dart electrical problem

Just read in Mopar Action that the magnetic pick up will do that when it goes bad.

I've had more than one coil do that. It's like a "bi-metal" switch. When it gets hot, it opens a gap inside the coil. When it cools, the gap closes and the electrons flow.

Just my $.02 of experience.

Those are the first two things I would check.

Coil or pick up in the distributor.

I have experienced what you are many times over the years and typically it's one of those two items.

Is it random?

When it has happened to me, I might drive 50 miles before it happens, the next time I might make it 10. There is never any consistency to it.
