Hydraulic Clutch setup

Hi,

I'm starting to set up my hydraulic clutch and have run out of ideas on where to attach the master cylinder.

I have measured the travel of the linkage???, it is 0.9 inches (2,3 cm).

The problem is that if I push the linkage inside the cylinder I have noticed that is has to go in straight (there can't be a big angel).

I have already removed the spring (I think there is no need for that) and that silver thing also (don't know why this is needed).

I asked advice from Brewers Performance (where I ordered the kit) and the send me some pictures of a E body setup (It was installed under the dashboard).
I would like to install mine to the engine bay.

I have googeld for different results, but the topics usually lac of pictures.

I think that the best place to connect the linkage and pedals are shown in this picture whit the red dot:

But does that mean I have to cut the peace marked with the green line?

I would really appreciate your help and some pictures.
