I have seen posts where people found cheap Dynamat like stuff at Menards and such, but I couldn't find them in the search function. I used Dynamat in my car, but my buddy builds Fiero's with 3.8 supercharged motors and the heat is unbelievable. He wants to find some cheap stuff to try and see if it works. Anyone remember where and what the cheaper stuff is?

B-Quiet has reasonably priced sound and heat deadening products. Used some on my car and it works well.

Yup, its the lowes/home depot special, HVAC section, only need 30% coverage for sound deadening.

How about this? Maybe not so much a deadener but you could slap some roof tar on top of it! My deadener I got was like a gummy rubber mat and it weighed 50 lbs....

Guys have used this stuff with success. It's what I'm gonna use.

Peel and Seal or Quick Roof from Lowes or HDepot. Easy to get and easy to install. Just make sure you have a good razor knife and plenty of extra blades. And something to push it down into creases/etc. I just used a small roller, the backend of a few different screwdrivers, and the razor knife.

Some people say it will smell... but from experience: I have a 69vert in South Fla with the top down in summer and havent smelled a thing in 5+years!
