So glad to see you're back in business Jon :thumleft:. As said, tuning on the carb/timing to one extent or the other should help out a lot. Just off the top on my head, I wonder if the pump squirter is enough with the 650 and that big plenum intake? I'm guessing a #31 shot should probably be in range, but I don't know what you're running now. Push the timing as far as you can without spark knock with the fuel you're using, and then tweak the carb. I know you could easily use a 750ish carb, but there's no reason the 650 can't get things done for the time being.
