I've got a dart you can store one of those 340's in! :) I would even be willing to try and squeeze in that hemi if needed!

I use lithium grease in an aerosol can, in the plug holes. I also remove the pushrods, so the valves seat and put the plugs back in, or I break them down and grease the cylinders and mating areas.

lots of really clever ideas out there guys. heres what i built. I built these out of leftover tubing i had from building my fence line. sure these are for holding 2.2 turbo ll shelby engines. the front of the engine is held up by a pin that fits into the block tooling hole outside of the oil pan. i made these supporting the engine like i did so they can be stored with the clutches and flywheels attached, or have these parts installed after pulling the engine off a buildup stand.

Something like it could be made to handle a V8. But i really like the idea of the wooden dolly i saw in this thread that supports the V8 by the oil pan rails, and may build one of these out of steel for my spare engine for the cuda using the same style welded base like i have for my 2.2s. and making the sleepers holding the pan up out of 1" square stock as well. I love seeing what you all can make out of wood, but i am no carpenter lol. A chop saw and a welder is how i roll.

i use mercury marine pickling oil in the cylinders, pump the engine thru by hand with a breaker bar a few revolutions to make sure the cylinders got a good oil coating and screw the spark plugs back in. cover every opening with aluminum speed tape to keep critters, dust and moisture out. i here theres places that sell plastic storage spark plugs filled with dessicant you can use to keep rust out of the cylinders as well.
