You need to post a photo. The flex plate goes between the engine (rear of the crank) and torque converter. If that is not in there, you'll need to pull either the engine or the transmission, whichever seems easier.
Factory flex:
Unless someone had the engine / trans apart, it should be there. The bolts are NOT evenly spaced. It only fits one way. "Some years" are marked, otherwise you'll have to install a bolt and rotate to check that the other three all line up
