Beware: Plum Floored Creations....

-
Holy crap. Was his selling the 440 and trans part of the deal to offset costs?

Karl M.

I just joined and saw you posts about Plum floored. He is a total ***. I gave him my 70 Superbird to put a new hemi in. I paid 14k up front. He destroyed the car. He has no Idea wht he is doing. If you saw the green SB on his website that was mine. He couldnt figure out the head light doors so he fiber glassed them in and mounted head lights under the nose. He put my alterkation rack and pinion torqe bars in upside down and broke one. I paid for a 6.2 and he gave me a 5.7 bored. But he put the engine out side for a week then bolted on the heads. Well the engine never ran and destroyed the block with all the crap that was in it. He sold my 440 6pak and new trany and powder coated k member and told me his guys did it and then gave me junk. I could never get ahold of him. When I did i told him I was comming to get my ****. But when I drove from Alb tp Phoenix he was a no show. On mon I got ahold of him and he said he lost his phone. Guess my number fell off the contract. I went several time but finaly got him almost 2 years latter. My car was a showcar when i brought it for a simple hemi conversion and he destroyed it. Every panel was scrached and chiped and i think he kick my nose cone around his shop. I talked to several of his venders so I could fix his f@#k up and they all said they will no longer work with him. I wonder < the gut with the orange b-body.... Did you ever get you car back and was it running? If you would like pics of his handy work let me know. BEN GRASSO is the bigest piece of **** I have ever met........

Beware of anyone who mentions that they are a religious company.

It's just an excuse to screw you in the name of their god.

Amen to that, lol. I am a plumber and see it everyday on the job. Guys with Jesus fish on the side of there vans snorting pills on there lunch breaks, lol.

Jim, building em yourself isn't an option for an oil and gas investor who couldn't change his own oil. I've never been screwed like this, maybe a thousand here or there on a car deal. But not $40-50k on a build. The vast majority of people are very capable and strong-minded when it comes to their work. Then, there's Ben Grasso. My theory is that he's a mild sociopath.

He told me over and over for a year that everything was 'right on track', making progress, going great '(keep sending those checks)'. I found out later the photos he was sending me were fakes. One week before delivery of the finished project is when he decided to tell me there was a problem (oh was there). Very little had been done. The money was gone of course. He claimed it all went to the car. Never saw one receipt, ever. Then I got in touch with other guys. Found out I wasn't alone. Really good guys and Ben screwed them over without a second thought. Just like what he did to Shappy120. The story continued with lots of guys.

Even when I'd arranged to cut my losses and ship the car to a real builder after 3 years of madness, he couldn't do that correctly either. The way he packed everything, windshield was broken and seats were slashed with broken glass. He'd backed into the car with his truck too so it was damaged. It sat unsecured in the open for weeks. I could list things on and on that are indications of his sloppy and unacceptable 'work'. You couldn't make up a story of a more miserable car building experience. A profound case of incompetence.

Once my real builder got into it, we realized that even what he did do was foul. So, we had to reconnect the two cars and dig out bondo everywhere (see pic). I'll finally have a car in about 2 months and it will be what I wanted initially. Orange was not my color. Painting it that early was a mistake that I paid for additionally. Still not sure about the motor, someone told me that Ben used my motor in some Mopar 1000 mile race rally so I'm guessing that's true and he thrashed it. Will find out the true nature of that motor in about 2 weeks. In any event, I've been fortunately successful in business and the money losses to Ben won't do me in. I was careless in that I didn't check references. I don't do that anymore.

I knew him for 3 years, very negative vibe. Like I said, I was trying to get out of this thing but one day I knew I would get back here with all the details. One reason: His website still lists Mutant Bee and Dark Runner as 'his' customer builds. Which means he's still living in a delusion and trying to screw people, unless he specifically tells people that Muscle Rod Shop built those cars and he was the organizer but that's not what he told me, he said he built those in his shop. Most of us have too much to lose to go after a person like this, and Karl's right, we all have our misgivings. I just don't wanna see another person be misled and lose money on Ben.

Bart I would not try to fire up that motor until you pull it apart to see what you really have. It sat in a fiberglass shop with lines, intake and various things uncapped for a long time.

Boy, this just keeps gett'n better 'n better.:wack:
It's just too bad to hear this. Ben seemed like a decent guy in my encounters with him. And he has some good concepts and ideas. But this kind of malevolence in business is not excusable in the slightest.

If I see one of those fish symbols on a yellow pages ad (yeah, there are still some of us that use it) I just pass on. Too many times people I've known have had their worst screwings at the hands of those purporting to be and emphasizing they are "christians". The big red flag always seems to be when they go out of their way to emphasize the "christian" part. That puts my beware-o-meter in the red arc.

I just watched that YouTube video with this guy on CarCrazy!! Hard to watch with a straight face!! Ill bet CarCrazy would like to hear a little about how their buddy Ben really conducts business!!....

Interesting angle!

We have Chrysler parts dealer down under who professes to be holier than the next man - yet also admits quite happily that he won't run a stall at our biggest show, for fear of the number of people who'll seek compensation in the form of a leg or arm.

These people are weird... its like they know deep down they are turds...but expect someone else to save them from themselves....

First, there are so many in accuracies here to address I want to clear the air.
First, and most important I am a Chrstian and it is of upmost importance to me. Have I made many mistake yes, and I always perfect no. But when I can I try to right the mistakes the best I can regardless who or what caused them.
03 ram it. I have no idea what Cuba you keep talking about. You reference an engine that was built by basko racing for Percy Scott and his brother 71 cuda. This engine was a 426 stroker and I am unaware of anyone that can make stock pistoms work with a Callie's stroker crank and rods. If you have a question please contact percy direct as I last spoke to him at length at a show this jan.
As far as the superbird clone goes I did learn there are some jobs you don't want and this one we should not have taken. The car arrived and it looked great from 20 feet then you realized the car was full of bonds and slapped together to sell on ebay
The owner even stated that the nose cone, "looked like the guy made it with his d&&k."
The original build was to be an Inertia Motorsport 392 with a 545rfe, altercation 2 k frame and wildwood bbk all High dollar componets.
The car was delivered with an engine that the owner decided to sell to go towards the build. This was done at the owners request.
The 392 was delivered an installed and at no time was the engine left outside or with the heads off. Once running the car was delivered to Extreme Performance in Glendale at the time. They were a dyno and cmr tuner that was to tune the car. The car was running fine at the shop but they were having difficulty with the diablo sport software.the car was left at the tuner for approx six weeks while they attempted to resolve the tuning. Marty with extreme contacted me and said they were unable to get the car to start. a
at this time we recovered the vehicle from outside there shop via tow truck and brought back to our shop. We spent awhile dianosin the problem, but then elected to ship the engine back to inertia motorsports
While this was happening the owner had. Request if we could get the headlights put in the nose (as they were just stock coronet lights mounted behind the doors which were velcrod or pinned on. He brought with him a combination of home made doors and mechanism and even headlights from an 80s firebird. We informed him we had worked with a fiberglass guy Rick fiberglass in Glendale, the owner gave us a budget which the glass shop reluctantly agreed to. Well as a couple months nose wasn't done and the shop through in the towel they had reinforced the nose as it was too flimsy and added a lot of glass and had to fill in the headlights as the opening was both too large and reinforced. This is why the work was done but they did not wish to finish the work. The work that was performed was done to stiffen the nose and make it so the buckets could be attahced. This work was performed at no charge.
what we did to try to make things right was we paid for the engine to be shipped to inertia as wel as the repairs, the owner then elected to have them build a 426 instead and paid the cost difference
We also gave the owner AND installed another complete Hemi, this one was a 5.7 for his trouble and so he could finish the car as he wished while the stroker was being rebuilt.
We spent many many times more hours on this car than should of been required due to these issues and the condition of the car (like most of the floor pan being patched with fiberglass) these were never charged for and nor did we ever intend to even if everything went well. That is what we did to try to make things right.
We have made mistakes, and made major changes because of these. We never have been a machine shop and never will. We don't assemble short blocks, we no longer do fabrication, or any body or paintwork.
Being a Christian unfortunately doesn't guarantee perfect results, nor making no mistakes. I try my best and when I do make a mistake try my best to correct them or make it better.
These issues happened over two years ago, some well over that. Unfortunately no one posts when the parts were recived or problem fixed. So in closing if you have ANY issue with us please contact us direct at sales@plumfloored.com or call or text us.
We don't monitor this forum or check our Pm folder often but if you want to contact us you have the means

famous bob, there's no upside to either. A guy like this is so pathetic that you would end up worse if you spent money, got a judgment and then what? Nothing to collect. Business services are not a security so there's no prison time involved. You break his arm and commit a felony, you just give him lawsuit money. The loser is him. The Internet is very powerful. So for the $50,000 he scammed from me, he's got a lifetime of bad press. Not to mention (very noteworthy) so many guys with the same result.

And then he puts up some weak denial. It doesn't matter Ben, no real businessmen ever did anything good after screwing everyone. It's something we learn as a young person and you chose not to follow it. Now, you're feeling it, more than ever.

I'll tell you all. After Ben's constant lies and I finally figured it all out, I was in Phoenix multiple times to figure out what I had here. I gave him a chance to finish the car, as it had already been paid for. He acknowledged that he was required to do that. I told him it was the only way to keep me from talking. But he did not have any knowledge on how to do anything except make excuses and whine.

At least he did do a tiny bit of work in referring me to Delaney, who is a total professional, complete night and day experience from Ben. But that was to get me off his back more than anything. When I saw his shop the first time I knew right then he was sad. It was in a rinky-dink strip, way outta town, the size of a 2 car garage, filthy with some ratty dead cars outside, **** laying everywhere, Ben shows up in flip-flops and shorts. Think about it, all the ones that end up as scam artists spend all their time polishing up their public appearance. The problem is they are just impotent in their career.

He sold me on the idea of building me a Charger on the same formula he said he had done for 'his' other cars, Mutant Bee and Dark Runner. But the piece of **** was taking credit for Muscle Rods work, point blank.

If you need more proof, go look at the next car Muscle Rods did: SlamCharger. They're the real builders. I know Steve very well and have utmost respect for him. SlamCharger is his response and it slams the point home. I've included the link here for you, note the attention to detail. Major metal fabrication to get the car that low and sculpt the sheetmetal all around. Not to mention engineering. The same style as done on Mutant Bee/Dark Runner. Not some douchebag outta Phoenix name Ben:

Nobody Ben has ever worked with that I found (I dug up at least 15 victims) will ever speak to him again, what else can you say Ben?

Nothing. You're done.

Wow! I suppose if I own the car I can say I did this or I did that. It seems very unethical to say it in the context of holding the work of others out as my own for the purpose of getting business for me. The audacity of fraud amazes me. Here's Ben Grasso as see haunting SEMA. If you see him, remember this thread. Caveat emptor. (I wonder why he never looks at the camera and scarcely at the interviewer. Just an observation. Oh yeah, show girl models. ;))

Here's the Mutant Bee. Pause the show at 1:21 and note the reflection on the bodywork. Pause again at 2:37 and see who did what. I see a name bartbarton mentions as one of the workers. Ben's role? I can read but specifically, IDK. Was he the idea/concept guy or commissioned the job?

"]

Here's the Black Runner. Pause the show at 1:27 and ease through the rest. The same credits are listed here as for the Bee.

Maybe its all a big Ponzi scheme. Take in money on one job, tap dance a while, finish another job, and repeat. The State AG may take an interest in this one. There was a case around these parts a few years back that went downhill fast when the bubble popped.

Haven't heard a positive thing about Ben or his work here yet, care to explain that??...

2 Darts, in this first video you can see the reflection of Plum Floored Creations sign reflected on the rear quarter (1 minute 25 seconds into the video). I don't know what that means, but the Mutant Bee must have been there at one time. ???

Its really too bad there are business out there like this. If you really think about it there is much more money/business to be made by completing quality work and putting emphasis on customer relations. Happier customers means potential repeat customers and word of mouth advertising, which is free! and VERY effective (look at this thread, it COULD have been positive). And honestly I have no problems giving my hard earned money to hard working shops and people, if they have pride in what they do and actually care everybody is happy.

Reading all of these problems really shows what has to be fixed...

I just finished checking out the rest of the links 2 Darts provided. I guess I'm confused. Is this guy (Ben Grasso) the owner of those cars but making claims that he's the builder? I can see shops farming out some of the work to other shops. That's understandable. I'm glad this thread has made the light of day. It's unlikely I would have done business with them because of their location, but I can see how those videos could convince others that they're the place to take a car to.

For a statrt - if you followed this thread, who did what to what car is half the story- the other half is his own crap project management- in these cases PFC was the Prime contractor and therefore holds responsibility....

From post #66 -

is integrity, or lack thereof. When you say you're going to do something, you do it, period. And that's how a good reputation is established. I'm in year 3 of a promised one year build with Ben on a 1969 Charger. It has been a complete test of patience for me. Capabilities were misrepresented. I'm a reasonable guy but I've got a Wall Street background and I expect attention to detail and professional delivery. I actually think Ben is a decent guy and a capable car builder with some real issues: namely, trying to do to much on his own and with a lack of organization and forthrightness.

Bart - I'll go "he" and attest that initially you didn't start out to bag this guy, but the facts have seeped out like **** out of a bad drain.

Now its like watching someone on a ledge and the fingers are slipping......and I wish Ben hadn't posted because it just re-enforces how pathetic his whole deal is...

I feel sorry for all concerned - but there's no way in hell I'd ever put business PFCs way - good intentions don't weld frame rails.

Bartbarton......Slamcharger built by Muscle Rods is pretty trick. Luv to see more and in person.

cool pics in the link you provided. Thanks

I know a Christian painter. Only took him 19 months to finish my car once he was paid.

Im surprised the youtube vid doesnt have more negative comments on it. It should be flooded....another way to help from someone else getting screwed by this jack wagon

1967 'cuda, yes you do see Ben's logo on or near the cars in the videos. He brought one investor to Steve to build the Dark Runner. For Mutant Bee, Steve agreed to build that car in exchange for a dedicated promotional campaign that Ben was to run. But Ben never did anything he said he was going to do after he got the cars back. He simply began promoting the cars as his own with a tiny nod to Muscle Rod Shop (and Paintshop 101, Steve's other business) in the rolling credits.

When I finally figured it out and confronted Ben, his explanation was to trash Steve and claim himself as the 'master contractor'. Like he's the experienced builder who taught everyone. No different than me ordering a 2014 Ford Fusion, ticking off the boxes for options I like and then upon delivery sewing my logo on the seats and saying it's my work.

2 Darts, the only idea/concept Ben had was to gain control of another man's work and promote it as his own to scam people. You listen to Ben talk and it's all fluff, you never hear any competent technical jargon. I've spoken at length to Steve about the engineering challenges he faced on these cars and how he overcame them, crystal clear who the builder is. Not the douchebag outta Phoenix. Never has been, never will be.

At some point, you realize you're in business with a moron and you just want to get out and back into deals with real people because it's draining on your good senses. You're just sick every time you have to talk to or try and reason with a scam artist. You get nowhere and you have this parasite sucking off of you. It's like trying to reason with a homeless person on the street about why they need to get a job.

Like I said earlier, Steve's response was to build SlamCharger and he's got two or three more of those sculpted, highly engineered cars in his shop now, also on his youtube channel at:

senochs71

Steve Enochs' cars are innovative and based on serious engineering, watch the SlamCharger drive into a high driveway in the video and no scraping, he did all of that through years of work and investment. He didn't get rich off of it either. Then a salesman named Ben comes along and pirates the whole thing?

No way that's gonna fly. Steve's loss was larger than mine but he has chosen to move on completely and never look back and that's his right.

It appears Ben's nose has been broken several times, I don't think this is his first scam. I will follow up with the AZ Atty General, I have a rather extensive file on Ben. I knew this day was coming. I gave him more than adequate opportunity to correct his wrongs. Once you're on to his scam and stop sending the checks, he loses interest real fast.

Save your so called "beliefs" for God when your time comes Ben, then pay real close attention to what he thinks about your ACTIONS. Scumbags like you are why religion has gotten such a bad rap and said to be full of hypocrites like yourself in this country. You make it unattractive and in need of promotion.

I altered my earlier post - seems theres two issues now - one relates to taking credit for others work, the other relates to PFC's crap project management.... Great track record!!!

WOW... This thread is truly showing how many fell victim. As the OP of this thread, I am appalled. I am a car biz owner as well and pride myself on the fact that we have a great reputation. I cant honestly beleive there are this many people that are openly disgusted with him and then he turns around and tries to validate his actions. You will get clients that no matter what, youu just cant please. But this many? No way.....

If you are a victim and would like to get together on this, PM me.

It's like trying to reason with a homeless person on the street about why they need to get a job.

That was kind of funny.

Question - Of the $50,000 you paid to have the car built over three years. What amount of money do you feel actually went into the car ?? Of the things that were done what had to be re-done ?? I ask this so folks might get a better understanding of what happened to you and the car.
