Looking for 17 Inch Wheels for my 72 Demon
Summit lists spacers. That is basically what you'll have to do, or offset the springs. Bear in mind that offsetting the springs degrades cornering.......increases body roll. Either that or change the axle to a wider one, or get different wheels. See? Easy, LOL
Not all these wheels are the same backspace. I had been using th earlier? 'Stang wheels, but my rear axle is a bit wider, it's a Versailles. More like a B body axle in width. On mine, the early wheels fit, the later ones will need spacers. From my research, it seems you can tell by looking at the valve stem
The early wheels, which are "outset" further, have the valve stem "cutting into" the polished rim. The later wheels, inset further (more backspace) have the stem further in towards the center, "all in" the colored part of the wheel

Post 22 is the rear wheels I scored and had been running / no spacers
Post 25 is the later wheels which will probably go back on........with spacers
