Exhaust Hanger Bracket on Floor Pan Question

The easiest way to install the floor pan bracket so that it is in the proper position is this way.
Install the complete exhaust system first making sure the RS muffler hanger is slid onto the back of the muffler. A jack stand under the muffler can be used to support the right side exhaust until the floor pan bracket and hanger are installed. The last part to be installed is the passenger side floor pan bracket. Install the muffler hanger loosely to the floor pan bracket.
If the elevation and clearance looks good then hold the floor pan bracket (with the muffler hanger installed to the fp bracket) up to the body. Simply drill the holes for the floor pan bracket , bolt it in and you are done. No guess work involved. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a good idea, thanks. :thumleft:

Although I'm not even close to putting the exhaust in & don't have the system yet. I've got the rear axle housing out along with the springs, & cleaning things up underneath the car. I thought I'd mount the floor pan bracket while I had plenty of room to work.

I did it like Tom said. Not quite on the factory dimple but very close:

Thanks for the pics. :thumleft:

I am surprised at where the passenger side bracket ended up, over the reinforcement plate. The dimples I found on mine were off to the right of that plate making it lower than yours.

I'm not going to be able to work on the car until some time next week since I'll be at Carlisle, but maybe I can talk my wife & daughter into mounting it while I'm gone. :D
