....As the title goes, you need "ALL" this stuff to do a job, or task. BUT as you start and get all this stuff, you put it down and then begin the project, work on your car, or repair something around the house, and then it hits, OHH YEAH I need THAT F*CKIN' thing too! That thing? ANYTHING, just ONE MORE THING, you have to either do the following to get and I
Go inside, or up the stars, down the stars to this closet to that closet from this tool box ohh yeah its not there so check the other tool box, and then go to the place you were, and think about where you last had it, and then the better half, asks why haven't you started on that project yet" your replay cuz I'm S-L-O-W.....

Then it dawns on you, you lent that one tool to your buddy, so you got to drive (hopefully NOT the car your working on to go and get it).....

You go and get it he tells you he brought it back so doesn't have it, and you get back as your better half have you seen this "A" tool? ANYWHERE? They reply, Nope your tools I don't bother with them....

You find it in the last place you'da looked but found it you go to start the project again, get started, then about say an hour OHHH YEAH I need "this" tool, go to get it, and sort of start that whole "search" over again, only this time, you found it in the second or 3rd place you put it, and then head back to location to re-start where you let off, and then get into it a bit more and actually get somewhere, and the projects almost done, and it A gets dark, or B, to finish you need one more f*cking tool.......JUST ONE MORE trip inside, down in the basement, or up the stars depending on how house is set up... .but just one more trip to get yet ANOTHER tool to just finish the job...You find it a bit latter finish the job, maybe under a light or whatever, and then here comes clean up. the first trip you were able to carry ALL the tools, you thought you needed now, you got enough tools to have to make 2 to 4 trips as your done wore out trying to fetch EVERY TOOL you had to have to finish the job!

I can not tell you how much I spend doing that crap. And my wife, she can;'t even give me **** fer it either as she does it a lot more then I do and will tell you so LOL We were just talking about it the other day working in the yard.....

Anyone else have this much fun just to try and do up or finish up one project?

I can't remember how often I've spent more time looking for the tool then it took to do the job.
My wife bought me a sign it hangs in my garage. All you need is duct tape, caulk, WDForty, and a hammer. If that doesn't work call someone to fix it less stress.

That's why you need to have more projects going one at one time, so you can always 'do' something instead of wasting your time looking for stuff to finish just that one project.

If you get stuck on one project, you just need another project!

:)

I bought the wifey a TTR-125 the other day to learn how to ride on
ive been riding 2 strokes for ages and didn't want to start her off on one of my bikes so I thought this little moped would be good for her

going through it I had to set the valve lash (silly 4 strokes) and in order to get at the rocker arm I needed to remove a plug with a 24 MM head
of course the engine is positioned in such a manner you can get a socket on there but not a ratchet or extension on the socket

I ended up grabbing a 2 inch extension, cutting it down so that it only stuck out of the socket about 1/4 of an inch and then cut 2 flat sides on it so I could get a wrench on it

45 minutes of work only to find out that the valve lash was perfectly within spec.

I guess with a 24 MM open ended or box wrench it would have been a 3 minute job

on a side note, I have come to a point to where any of the inlaws ask to borrow a tool I will go out and buy them the cheapest one I can find because in the end it is much cheaper and less headache then having to replace my own (which would be inevitable)

That is how all my tools end up in 5 gal buckets.

Finally get the job done and throw all the tools in a bucket and put it in the shed.
Later when the wife is whining about the yard or whatever I go out and put them away. :)

Was my biggest problems,plural.... Being in a hobby shop, industrial section for 20 years: Tools get loaned out& never return. The second : Multiple projects(buddies, that don't follow up,life happens ...),stack up,and you're stuck with them. Went back to the house garage, make more progress now, tools don't get loaned out without me with it.

This is what I do. Unfortunately the more stuff laying around the more stuff people have to move around when you're not looking.

Post is the short version of the story of my life.

my problem is I have DRS disease ( don't remember Sh___!)

I got the other one to that, "CRS"........."Can't Remember ****"

I hope ya don't suffer as bad as I seem to at times!

Enjoyable laugh in time it will be! IF I remember it! :D

Sadly my "in-laws" LEAVE WITH NO TOOLS of mine, unless their JUNK....... LMAO

Wifey use to hate it as they would ***** and bitterly complain BUT, when I said "Hey honey you got the list of "needs" at say Home Depot, OR Sears" her reply, yes, why? I'm going to restock ALL of what your family has lost. $100,00 or more later, NOW she gets it (I hate that I had to go that route to teach my own wife a trick or 2 on her own family but.. you know where this is going guys! Specially the married ones!

NOW, she don't even get in the middle she came right out once and told her Brother if he returned the first "others" he "borrowed" I might think to loan him something more....I stopped at hand tools then they got into trying to borrow electric tools .........thats when it stopped! :rambo:

Heart surgery or not, I still "work" just not at the same pace I used too!

I love the way you think! I do have multiple "projects" the wife at times, hates it but, it makes getting a BUNCH done in say a given "week" and she sees it, then she doesn't question it......

I am also that way in my "Hobby Shop" too......keep things "fresh" and you don't run out of interest as once it becomes minotinous then you start to loose interest....

Mr.Power Wagon thank you typing that all out! My life to a T! How about the tool you just had in your hand?

I was looking for a 7/16 wrench for I dont know how long, turns out it was in my pocket the whole time...
