-
I have the photo some where in my archives. I need to find and post it. But basically one bolt doesn't line up and a liittle grinding is required

here are two different style bell housings used with the dodge dakota factory installed 2.2 and 2.5 versions the early bell housing on the left took an a535 five speed transmission with this bolt pattern a t5 five speed from ford mustang or t'bird can be used. many of those out there. and in expensive. this bell housing was used from 87-93. the bell housing on the right i talked about before 94-96 can accept the the toyota r154, chevy colorado, pontiac solstice, H3 saturn skye, canyon, Ma5 five speed and issuzu ar5 transmissions. although some slight modifications are needed to fit the bell housings to the 2.0 and 2.4 blocks

I've been following your thread and I'm fascinated. Your Lancer needs an IRS to bring it into the 21st Century! Also, you said the A535 bellhousing can be used (I take it with modifications) with a Ford T5 transmission pattern. Do you have any info on how that's done? The bells in your pic I'm intimately familiar with. They're both mine. :)

So, what would be the best manual transmission to hold up an SRT4 engine with larger turbos, etc? Just surfing the web, it seems like maybe an MA5 out of the Colorado.

jump in join the club. maybe with enough interest there will be an a body srt4 swaps section added to for a-bodies only

This summer I need to finish up installing my Hotchkis TVS, 8 3/4 rebuild (already got my rebuilt carrier with 3.55 gears and an eaton truetrac and big bolt axles, just needs to all go together), big brakes (only piece missing, need to find a set and thinking about just going with Dr Diff), and 18" wheels and tires. Once all those bugs are worked out and I graduate college in March (with a job hopefully) I'll probably be set to go. :D
