Strange situation on rear brakes - 67 Barracuda

What you are dealing with right now is why I think the a bodies had such a small following and never grew to gain the affection and popularity of the b bodies or the other brands of muscle cars. Their brakes were barely adequate freaks at best that had no interchange with nothing else. Even the bolt pattern is its own. It wasn't till 73 that ma Mopar figured this out. Luckily it can be easily remedied today but wasn't common knowledge back in the day.
On the first swinger I owned (bought in 1979)I replaced every single brake part(10"drums front and back) for a complete rebuild at an attempt to make the car work well. 340 4-speed car. Complete waste of money. Big bolt disc brakes and axles for me ever since. It will convert your a body into a super car. If there is one single mod these cars need the most this is it. Hope this saves you money and time maybe your life.
Yes they are that bad. I know this post will likely ruffle some feathers but I feel it is very important to be able to stop. Even a slant can take you to hiway speeds.
