So I pulled my Trans out , so I could install a cope full manual valve body and the billet servo . Instead of me doing it I Decided to drop it of at my Trans guy . Today I finished putting everything in , connecting all the lines etc... Everything got put back and bolted into place.

So this is the problem when I proceeded to start my car . Once started there is a Loud clunking noise , like something is hitting something . I can't really figure it out. Once I heard that noise I shut off my car . Checked everything and turned it on again . And same thing .

So now I'm lost, do you guys maybe know what could be wrong ????

Hey I was thinking the same , but I checked and it looks like everything is fine there .

Did you fill the torque converter with trans fluid before installing, did you start the car in neutral with wheels off the ground to make sure transmission pump was working?

I filled the torque converter , before instaling . Started the car in neutral also , but I had it on the ground

I'm triple checking everything right now , I tightened them to torque specs , but didint use lock tite thou

Im about to have a panic attack , with this dam car . I'm gonna triple check everything , that you guys told me about . Ill pull off the dust cover and install the starter and see what that does also . If it's still the same thing I'll post a video . But allready I wanted to say thanks for the ideas quick Instaled and the help

Is this a very regular clunking like each time the engine rotates? Or erratic? Have you checked to see if the exhaust is hitting something? Wonder if the pipes get torqued in installation or removal.

It's just weird , I pulled the trans on this car before , had no problems . Did the same thing this time , and it's this weird nonsense . I'm laying under the car checking everything as we speak .

I'm sure you check already but are the TC to flex plate bolts tight

TC bolts are hitting something... paint the bolt heads orange or something and start car...

Ok guys , so this was weird , because ther was no scratches on the dust shield or anything .I painted it both sides and it was clean with no marks ?? For a second I though that there was a bolt stuck in there that was rattling , but nope . I pulled off the shield and just installed the starter without it . The crazy clunking sound went away .

Either way I guess I panicked over nothing , as usuall .

Again Thanks for all the help and ideas .

Glad to hear you have whipped the problem. When this subject comes up most of the time the bolts hitting the dust cover ends up being the issue.
