Well, after a little over a year I finally got the new 496" in the car and running. I still need to get the Procharger on, and clean up some small things but it's in, running and moving under it's own power. I'm pretty darn pleased with how it came out! Even at 8.9:1 compression I think it still sounds pretty nasty, especially when it gets up on the cam.

Here's a short video. Not great quality because it is pretty loud and it just blew the headroom up on my phones mic.

nice, very nice. What's your combo if you don't mind me asking?

Sounds good, would love to see the neighbors response, lol.

Mark,

How's the ProCharger installation coming???

Thanks, Kim!

I haven't got a chance to do anything the last week. The company I work for just aquired two more companies, and I've been chasing my tail getting that set up.

I still need to do something about the plug wire routing, probably buy a big roll of bulk and build new ones. Need to re-route the fuel lines to move them away from the header tubes. Then I do need to get the Procharger put back on. After all of that, I need to get a good tune put on it... Still a ways to go!

It's a raised deck 496". K-1 4.150"/2.2" crank, Scat 6.8"/2.2" rods. Diamond custom blower slugs. Edelbrock RPM heads flowing around 300cfm @ .600 with PAC springs, Comp tool steel retainers, Manton Pushrods, T&D rockers. Bullet custom grind solid roller & Crane lifters. M-1 single plane intake and a 750cfm blow through carb from CSU.

The Procharger is just a little D1SC with a 7.6" lower & 4.25" upper. Hoping to get the boost down to 5-6psi with that pulley configuration. It's just a little pump gas street car, not an all out effort by any means.

Thank you! I have a lot to do, yet. It doesn't even have any kind of a tune up on it, to this point. Ha! I'd like to know what they thought, too. Probably thought all hell was breaking loose.

Well, look forward to updates when you do free up some time to get back working on it! Quite the work in progress and it should fry the tires off it when done.

Thanks for posting!

Kim

That's gonna be a moving machine--I guess a D1SC is a small head unit given the displacement, but 5-6 psi with proper tuning will be nasty!

Well, the Procharger is on! Got a few other things done, put a temporary exhaust on it with the old Flowmaster two chambers to at least quiet it done some. Took a couple rides and all seems well so far. Still need to do a hot lash on the valves, and get a good tune up on her, but damn... This thing is making some power! It turned out to be a long haul, but it was an extremely fun build. I couldn't have done it without my awesome wife, and my best buddy, Dave! He put it in a ton of work with me and did one heck of a head porting job!

Have a few videos to post later, if anyone is interested.

Well, the quality isn't all that great, but you can still hear it I guess. The second one, I thought I ran the cell out of fuel, but my buddy forgot to turn on the pump lol.
