A real Dart!

Thats what my 12year old says about the new ones...that they are not real darts...lol

[quote="Dart67";1970513660]What Forum is it, do you know ?

Maybe all the "that's not a real Dart" owners on this site should register there.

Then post info and photos of our "that's not a real Dart" to show them all what "Real Darts" are all about.

I know I myself have owned my "that's not a real Dart" longer then most of them have probably
been alive.

No real point, they leave us alone, we leave them alone. Don't need them over here.
Coyote Jack singed their butts and they didn't take it well.
These kind of people can't be reasoned with. Parents probably used "baby on board" signs and stuck bike helmets on them in the stroller too.
They'll trade their cars in on some piece of jap crap in a couple years and it won't matter to them. In 20 years their car will be someone's 5 year old refrigerator, we'll still be driving ours.

for just a start. real lettered 300 must have at least 300 hp, get it. a 150 MPH speedo, a 2 door hardtop. an engine that is not in any other chrysler car. all but one year had 2-4 bbl carb. most with an auto trans, but could have a stick shift. heavy duty suspension. specl emblems, and trim. high level interior, at the level of a new yorker . chrysler had a target performance of 17.-15. second 1/4 mile. it was NOT ment to be the fastest car around. it was what cheysler call a "gentelemans luxury performance car." 1955 to 1965. check out what the 1955 300 did at nascar that year. NO body but NO body made a car like it. wish i had my 300 L back.

So, what's really different from the THEME of the new Dart versus the old a-body Dart we love and cherish?
They are both cheap throw away cars that get decent mileage and look okay.
That's all they always were and that's what they are today.
Back when our beloved a-bodies were 10 years old or so, they typically were a winter beater or a parts car in the junk yard. That's what the new one will be too.
A rusty, mostly worn out, piece of crap.
There will be people that will take care of them just like the old ones and they will survive of course.
A lot of people forget that in the '80s, you could pick up an average a-body for under 1000 bucks, and maybe a bit more if it was a 340 or a 4 speed. I've got a yard full of parts cars that i picked up in the late '80s and early '90s for under $500 a copy because nobody wanted them. They were everywhere!
You can do the same thing today with Neons.
So, really, what has changed?

I took a gander to the other dart forum, most is people asking how to perform basic maintenance, and how long should it take to drain all oil out during a change...

Well If I ever pull up at a light beside a "new" dart in my "not a real dart" with a healthy 360, I think we know who will win... LOL

Very true ... BUT .. I highly doubt anybody will be restoring todays darts in the future !

Gunbunny you didn't happen to see what color his dart was do you? I can always keep an eye out for him around town. You run into anymore of these arrogant "dart" owners then I'll start making a little list to tape to me dash.

It's been a while since the flood plains at east fork saw slicks :)

I had some people in a new Dart pull up beside me in my Dart at a stop light, and they looked over with a confused look on their faces, and asked, "Why did you put Dart emblems on your car??"

I went over and checked out the forum. I love how the build threads are people changing their head lights and wheels. Anyways I'm not that great of a internet bully so I'll mind my own on here but I'm more then willing to give a little intro class at the stop lights ;)

I was told I don't have a real Dart today!
I was at work today, a customer comes in a wants oil filters for a 2014 Dart. He's pissy because he can't get the filters from a parts store, that's just a damn shame, but no sweat, I got plenty.
He's starting to chat me up about his Dart and how much fun it is.
I tell him I have a Dart too."A 2.0l ?" "No.....I buy Coke in 2 liters!" "Oh yeah, a Tiger Shark?" "Nope a 318" "What?? How did you get a 318 in a Dart?" "Came that way." "A 2.4 Tiger Shark is the biggest they come." "They came a lot bigger than a 318, I can tell you that." " Never heard of that! When!" "My 318 is is 75, I got a Duster with a slanty too." "Oh, you got one of those old things, that's not a real Dart."
Now this is usually where I jump in and tell the guy I have a real Dart and he's driving a fat Fiat but, I just raped him for 4 oil filters that he had paid an pissy asshole penalty on. But while he was chatty, he had told me about a forum for Dart owners. I thought he was going to tell me about FABO, but he went on about another. I looked at it after he left the shop, it would seem he's not alone.
The question that are being asked are cracking me up! I couldn't take to much offense, these aren't car people, these are people who own cars. They're clueless.

Super Stock 426....not a real Dart?

Sure buddy, I would have laughed in his face.

Gunbunny, are you bring your fake DART to the filming tomorrow night?
Nope, never heard back. I figured they had enough cars.
Gunbunny you didn't happen to see what color his dart was do you?
Baby blue with white decals and a baby seat in the back. A real racer.

Betsy is backed up with work and the Internet server they use loses emails. They probably lost yours. The filming is 8pm to 8am tonight. Sorry you didn't connect. They wanted REAL cars anyway!! :)

I just visited - man youre not kidding! One poster described his mods:Race dump exhaust header(has me shakin) full LED dash swap, Cree license plate light kit, AND a full 8% tint all around. Man we are absolutely nuts with what we do! Changing cams, building strokers, changing converters. Whats next, someone will want to change the rear gear ratio? LOL

My wife has a 2014 turbo 6-speed.
It does what the original dart's did, reasonable priced new, good gas mileage.
Economical people mover.
If it lasts 10 years I will be happy.

the only thing i can picture, when he left was steve martin in the jerk driving the dart without tires on the rims
