With the smaller center bore I am starting to think you are right. It appears the 5x4 bolt pattern drums have a 2.31" hub register:

And the 5x4.5" drums have a 2.81" register and come a little wider:

1968 Ford Mustang V8 is 2.43", otherwise looks very close. CENTRIC Part # 12261002
