Street outlaws

Maybe there the smart ones and were the dummies?

One way to look at it. The other way to look at it is they can't make enough money off the builds and have to peddle their asses to the TV networks to make money.

For every celebrity "builder" you see, there's ten who are content to work on what they're building and focus on the customer and the build then to focus on the camera.

You guys wanna race downhere send a pm.It would be nice to see a slowpar win.if it dont run 5.40's dont bother.Use to my old Camaro could compete but not anymore.

with all due respect...... fast and furious took care of that quite a long time ago... its just tv man. its entertaining and anyone with half a brain knows its all staged. those that cant figure that out dont matter in society anyways. does everyone miss the disclaimer at the start of the show? it says in black and white that its dangerous and stupid so dont do it.

They actually do matter, they can vote, they can breed, they can drown us all in stupidity.

You can't fight all of the stupidity, but you sure as hell shouldn't bait it with a big red flag in certain cases and draw negative attention to yourself with false displays of ignorance-this is what some people are upset by, the negative connotation that cannot be shaken off.

Bait it, like drawing attention to the cops (import street racing craze), or politically (clunkers for cash).

& yes the import street racing culture is NOT solely (sp?) responsible either.

That's what these threads usually turn out to be. The guys who swear by these shows telling the guys who could care less that they need to watch honey boo boo or some such nonsense and the guys who don't like these shows telling those who do to grow a brain or some such nonsense.

It all comes down to personal preference, really. I don't watch the shows about cars simply because I've been a professional wrench for almost 25 years. Spend 8-12 hours a day in a garage, 5, 6, 7 days a week and I could care less about coming home and watching a tv show about someone else in a garage. Kinda like the fact I have a friend who's a professional chef. He doesn't come home and watch the Food Network. Trust me, over the years, I've cultivated a lot of interests beyond cars.

But that's me. Others have other reasons. All are valid, simply because it's all a personal preference, good for your life, your interests, and invalid for others' lives and others' interests. On both sides of the never ending finger pointing of who needs to do what.

Good post Robert...I'm one who does watch some of these shows and take them for what they are....entertainment.I honestly don't think any of these shows make a hill of beans how the general public see's the car culture cause they probably aren't watching it any way. I just get a little fed up when every week after these shows air we have the same old difference of opinion.I respect those who don't like these shows and would think they could respect those of us that do. Life's too short to call each other names over a TV show.

Ain't that the truth.

Isn't the reason we turn on the TV is be entertained? My form of entertainment comes with an asterisk. What entertains me may not entertain you.

The idiocy of the debate is when guys take the attitude "I like it, so therefore you have to like it, too" or vice versa. No, I don't, just as you don't have to like what I like.

My good friend Limpy is flaggin tonight

Watched the episode, thought it was good and seen Limpy on there, very cool to have a friend appear on a popular TV show! Have you talked with him, did he have a good time? Those cars sure hauled some serious a$$ last night :glasses7:

Sorry your thread turned into a mess, nobody even responded to your opening post about your friend being on national TV.....

Next week on wheelchair outlaws...

Bernice shoves her catheter in homer spokes, jamming him up on his run to the restroom. He dumps fluid all over the track requiring hours of clean up.

Don't like it, don't watch. Fat and furious is horrible compared to SO. Haven't watched that mess since the first show which lasted about 5-10 minutes or it happens to be on in the background.

Some really sick times they were running. That S10 is a bad *** truck!

I would ask your friend if it's scary standing there when they launch?

I enjoy watching the show. I wish they talked more about back in the day.

Asa, if this is your yard, it's awful weedy, you need to clean it up before it goes to seed.

As i said on an other thread. I get a kick out of it! have it set to record so i don't miss a one of them, and have watch several of them more then once!

It is pure entertainment for me.:glasses7:

Hate waiting a week to see the next one.:???: :D

Purple dart is chevy powered
i know, but that's the only nice a$$ I've ever seen on the show! Lol didn't get to see limpy, but I bet he had fun. I'm not personally a fan of the show, but to each their own.

I like the show. I was bummed when I found out the dart runs a big block chevy.

Would be nice if the cars were actual street cars, not boring trailered track cars. They showcase cars running at a high level that just isn't interesting to watch. That's why an 1/8 mile race has to have 10 different edits.
