Anyone using Caltracs with mono springs inside the mopar 3/4" offset shackle kit ? I found only one thread that had the same question but there really wasn't an answer to it. I'm not to sure if they will fit in the front box or not. To be honest I don't even know if they mount inside the box or outside.

I asked that question quite awhile back. no replies. I took it no one knew. I even emailed calvert, w/ no reply. got a friend, (jim hale) long time big time chrysler sponsered racer back in the past, had a 67 383 stock class barracuda w/ cal tracks that worked great. saw pics of it carrying the front wheels in a very controlled wheely. I`m not sure but I think they go inside the front spring eye boxes, and would work on any stock width box. pull up a close up pic and check it out. a lot of people on here have bashed the things saying they won`t work on 20" front segment springs that our A bodies have, but they will if you get them right. look at the nhra stock and other class a bodies that are running them. just my 2 cents----bob

Thanks Bob. I figured it might be a question that hasn't been covered a whole lot. I can fit a 10" slick in there without relocating and mini tubing. If I can get that slick or even a taller 9" to hook nice then there is no reason for more endless work on the car. Guys are pulling 9's with 9" slicks and caltracs will help get to that. Might try assassins if anyone shows me pics of the wheels off the ground and there 60 ft is 1.4 or less. The good thing about the Assassins is that they don't pivot on the front sector bolt, they are attached to the spring and the stop hits on the eye of the spring. Nothing mounts inside the shackle. So that is the only option if the caltracs don't work inside the tighter offset shackle.

The Caltracs mount on the inside of the 3/4" offset front spring hanger. Been having them on my Duster for years. I ran a 28 x 10.5 ET street with no rubbing anywhere. The biggest issue with the front hangers are the bolt head for the spring is literally right up against the frame rail. I had to "massage" my frame rail and grind the head of the bolt down.

:) in the same boat, don`t want to go to the trouble of tubbing, getting tired of working on the car all the time, "time to play!" what are assasins? any pics? I elongated the existing l holes in the frame for bolt clearance when I installed the 3/4" offset stuff in mine-----bob

Did you guys order the offset kit from Mancini? I am looking at moving my springs in as well, was just curious about the front leafe spring bolt and what needs to be done there.

I already have the mopar set of offset spring shackles on the car , from mopar, that much is done and easily fit a 10" hossier slick . Caltrac got back to me a few weeks back and confirmed a measurement of their set up with their springs and caltrac plates measure exactly 3". So I'm good to go. Front hangers measure 3 3/16 so that's plenty of room. Thanks for the replys on the similar set up. That gives me a Forsure go ahead for the winter. Till then I'm gonna run my SS springs
