Opinions on what this car is worth
I don't know where some of you live but apparently prices swing greatly or some of you are the cheapest ****'s ever! Lol. Some of you are still paying 1990's prices. Where I am from a parts car is 1500-2000. I'd say around here that car would worth 4-5000, IF it is actually rust free and straight.
What is your goal? A daily driver? Total restoration? I ask because you can buy it cheaper restored than you can restore it. Just food for thought. Bought my barracuda for 5k, have another 25 invested doing all the work in house except paint and machining. But it is exactly what I wanted.
Yes, it all depends on your location, 100% agreed.
Where i live, people are asking a lot for their cars, but i doubt that's what they're actually selling them for.
For example, there was a '75 slant 6 auto Dart Sport for sale on kijiji locally. The car was running and driving, but needed some TLC and minor rust repair. The asking price was $4000.00 6 months ago. It then was dropped to $2500.00 3 months ago. It ended up selling for $900.00 about a month ago. That was a pretty good deal, but it's all the car was worth being a '75 and a slant 6 car to boot.
It is better to buy one restored, in the long run it will save you money. (As long as you are choosy and know exactly what you are looking at)
But another argument for the fix it up yourself crowd is that if you take on a project and do it yourself, you know what you got, and you can do it your way. (Like your car which is awesome BTW)
As a matter of fact, i am a cheap **** as you put it, aren't we all though? lol
