I am doing a motor swap at some point here. The 225 six and tranny only have 20,000 miles on it. Carb is just rebuilt, runs like new. I have a buddy that wants it, whats a fair price? Manifolds are nice, no cracks etc.

That's what I see on craigslist usually, Doesn't seem to matter how many miles - just $300-$400. Sometimes people ask you to haul them away for free.

Yep. I wish that I could say that they are worth more, especially rebuilt, but it's hard to get rid of them sometimes. You have to find the right people...

i would just give it to him if hes a friend. the last one I pulled I threw in a ditch because I couldn't give it away. I would never pay even 250 for one

Got one behind my garage that I will be burying with rocks here soon.....

If the engine were a documented recent re-build and could be heard running than there are people ( like myself ) who would pay a bit more if we were in need but otherwise I think Karl is being a bit optimistic.

the one I tossed into a ditch had 43,000. hell , I ran an add on CL for 150 bucks , and not one call

That would be cool to find these buried in the future. People will speculate on why our lost civilization buried them. Probably to control the immense power of the slanted machine. It was much to scary.

I tried to give one away with 58K one owner miles and no one would come get it. If you have a buyer sell it for what ever the two of you can agree on.

my experience....$250 to the right buyer, other wise scrap. sad but thats they way it is. the made tons of these. they all run good

Selling to a friend is easy for you - no dealing with craigslist flakes who waste your time, no answering the same questions over and over that were clearly described in your ad, etc. For that reason should be half off normal price. I would say normal price is $250 top. Also, insure it fits his car. At some point, they changed to a cast-iron crank (balance issues) and a larger pilot hole for the trq conv snout.

WOW ok i know here, people get good money for decent motors, as there isnt a ton of them left.

250 is decent money for a slant six.

I'm looking for a good solid slant to put in my dart. Any of you guys got any?

its all amount real estate: location, ", ", etc LOL free to $250 for a documented running GOOD one round here. if a guy can't find a buyer, they throw them away. sad. 20,000 mi slant.. hard to swallow!???? un less 20,000 after rebuild!!
like the guy said, if he's a f reind give it to him and remind him maybe he can do a favor in return.... just me....

I'm gonna be looking for a slant six as soon as I bring my barracuda from my dad's house in California to mine here in Nevada. I hope someone is willing to give me one for damn near nothing. :D
