The Nats show pics.

Lol, what did you guys do John?

don't even ask about leaving the bloated dead pig dragged in the city square.....or stealing pumkins....or the night he spent jailed in Sylvania, Ohio as a robbery suspect......just to name a few,

Halloween Hijinks.

Seven of us put an outhouse in a big grain truck and dropped it in the
street in front of the high school. Just as Sheriff's Deputies stepped out
from behind nearby trees as if on cue.

"All right! Un-***-it you guys. I know all of your fathers!"

Not as inventive as another group who put a 2-holer with half of one hole
boarded over on the courthouse lawn with a sign that read: "This is for the
Mayor and his half-assed friends"

The giant dead swolen sow was dropped under the main stoplight by the
courthouse right after the football game let out. Reportably the PD and the
game warden arued for some time over who had to get rid of it. Eventually
a large front loader from the street department was summoned to the scene.

Six large pumpkins, two Roadrunners and one pissed off farmer in a big Chrysler
left in the dust at 130 mph.

Jail? Riding in Toledo in an aquaintance's new red LS6 Chevelle with a freshly
installed but very loud exhaust system and the first Holley 4500 Dominator I
had ever seen. He was moving out of a house trailer in preparation for marriage
and the back seat was piled full of clothes under which (unknown to me) he was
also moving his rifles and shotguns. We were pulled over due to a report moments
earlier that 3 guys in a loud red car had just robbed a clothing store at gunpoint
mere minutes away.

Before we were ever even incarcerated the Police admitted that they had made a
mistake but the B.S. judge would not let them cancel the arrest without a court
appearance the next day upon which it was immediately thrown out. The Police
were very apologetic about the obstinate Judge who was viewed as having an aversion
to firearms. Luckily, we had ventured into Sylvania, OH before we were "apprehended"
and their jail was more like an upscale surburban school than the Toledo workhouse.

Jeeesh! I've slowed down considerably nowadays but I think I may need an attorney!

How did this stuff get in the Nat's Show Pics thread anyway? Oh yeah, thanks brother!

Here's a nice cropped one for you.....not that you don't already know how to do that.

One of my favorite times of the weekend was Saturday night when Joe and Lynn were getting ready to call it a night....... Joe gets up out of his folding chair and cant seem to figure out how to close it.....I'm watching and after a few seconds I say to Joe....... "So you helped build the Wire Car but cant close a lawn chair!" He just dropped it and said "that was a long time ago" I swear to God I laughed (along with everyone else) so hard I thought I was going to piss myself.

Great fun with great people. No matter what is said about The Nats fading and loosely organized, it still has so many good things about it. I can say from a few years of experience that The Nats is something I look forward to from year to year. We (the group I go with) are already making plans for next year and so looking forward to the 20 hour round trip to make it happen again. The friends that were made and the stories told in the posts above are what it's all about. The cars we collect are just the common detonator that brings us all together. Looking forward to seeing you next year. tmm

Right on Mike...

and it was a pleasure to meet you in person. Thanks for stopping by the tent.

Sounds like next year I need to hang around a bit longer! Misfits? You should see our motley crew. This year, one of our fellow vendors that we chum around with, took our rented golf cart. They had it under a blue tarp all Friday afternoon. We were wigged out for sure but they were just screwing with us. We all went out for pizza and beers later. Part of the fun. tmm

Man, I am on some boards where this event was trashed to hell and back,,,golf carts hitting people...some folks are calling it the golf car 500, people with passes not being let in, and it goes on..what I am hearing is that Carlisle is a lot better organized and better follow through with the rules....

With this many people / cars, you have to have organization and rules..that need to be followed...as well as a knowledgeable staff...or it is anarchy...

Not on my bucket list...

Although I have never been to Carlisle, most of the group I go with has made the trip. It sounds like a premium show and very well organized. It's on my bucket list to go there but I won't stop going to the Nats for those reasons. tmm Anyway, back to some photos from the car corral:

Carlisle and the Nats are great shows....just different.

I wouldn't kick either out of bed.....as the say'n goes

Grassy, I would have it in my driveway by know if it was that cheap! LOL

Blah blah blah, Carlisle is better than this, Carlisle is better than that!! Is the racing better?? Oh wait, they don't offer racing!! Is the nightlife better?? Oh wait, there is none! The parts selection?? Parts are parts, no matter where you buy them! I sold every part I took to the Nats!! Would I do that at Carlisle?? Not gonna drive 10 hours to find out! Why would I, all you guys are at the Nats!!! :)

As for it not being like it was 20 years ago...neither is my haircut, my sex life, or....well, you get the picture! Enjoy it for what it is, not what it used to be!!

I sold/bought a ton of stuff too and met a lot of good people... all and all had a great time at the nats 2014.
I may try Carlisle next year tho...I haven't been since. 1997.

Bingo! We need to meet up next year. Toby in our group only had 10 items and sold 8 of them. He went home with $1500 in his pocket.

I'm confident that had been made out of gold anodized acid dipped titanium, he would have closed it forthwith.

THAT was hilarious, and Joe's sense of haha helped to kick the laughter up a notch for sure!

We had such a good time that we are very seriously thinking of doing the 5600mile round trip again next year!
