Would not having the kick down linkage make the trans slip when the car shifts thru the gears? 74 duster 360/727
Thanks

ABSOLUTELY!
It will actually kill the trans, so get that stuff hooked up.

If you have felt it slip while driving it may already be too late.
Is the fluid dark and burned smelling yet.

The fluid is clean and smells not burned, I just drove it up my driveway once felt it slipped and parked it.
Thanks

If you want to for temp until you get the rods and parts together, or if you order Lokar stuff you can tie the TP lever on the trans half way back.
It will shift a little later and harder at low throttle, but you can drive it normally this way and it won't hurt it.
Don't jump on to hard though until it's fixed because tied back half way isn't enough pressure for WOT runs.
