318/390 Build Progress

This is a very interesting build as I am considering a similar one.
I didn't think you would need quite that deep a dish in those pistons. But with a 60 cc chamber I suppose it could give you a 9 .75 comp. ratio. Also, were you able to fit hardened valve seats since the valves are so close together??? The guy who did my heads said that it would be a problem when using 2.02 intake valves. My J heads only flowed 246 cfm on the intake and 161 on the exhaust after porting. That is about a 15 percent improvement over stock. Maybe he was being conservative with his port work. I think the rods should be 6.123 long. But anyway your heads should be able to support the added stroke with room to spare. I think you 2nd cam choice will give you a pretty radical idle but probably barley run on pump gas. I was going to go a little less on duration. But since my heads flow best at 550 valve lift I wanted to keep the lift pretty close to 550.
Good luck with this build. It should be a real terror on the street.
I really want to know about the hardened valve seats.
How do you guys think this engine will perform compared to a 340 block instead?
