Im trying to install the Weiand Action plus +, and a Holley 650 DP on my dart an the carb to hood clearance is minmal..to say the best.

What amount of drop in the air cleaner base should I look for? An will any of the summit drop bases fit over a Holley DP?

I dont want to cut a hole in my hood if I can help it?

I ran a Weiand 8007 with a AFB on my Barracuda with no problems, try one of the cheap Summit air cleaners. I believe you can get a lowered base pretty cheap from them. Close the hood VERY carefully and see if there is any contact.
 
I would get some clay at Michaels and put a blob on the air cleaner and shut the hood carefully to see what clearance you have.
 
When I ran my Eddy air gap and Demon 750 with a Zex nitrous plate between I used a 2" drop base cleared my stock hood.

I will look at the 2" drop base an see if I can find one that clears the Holley DP linkage and OEM kick down...

ZEX is nice stuff.
