Today while working on the front end of my 73 Duster, after removing fenders and bumper I found this issue with my frame.

It appears to have affected the area just in front of where the k frame bolts in on the passenger side. I am wondering if I should cut it out and replace the segment along with the radiator support which is also bent on the driver side or try and have it straightened. Anyone deal with anything similar out there? Any suggestions?

As stubborn as I am, I would be trying to straighten it. It looks solid, just bent.

I would section the rail end. This is fairly simple. That one is kinked in several spots and will likely crack if an attempt is made to straighten.

It would also be less work to section the rail.

A good frame shop could fix that fairly quick and would be the best fix. You could section it forward of the K-member mounting and not have problems, either.

Which core support do you have? If it is for the 22" radiator this would be an excellent time to upgrade to the 26".

I would check for further damage to that rail behind the a-arms at the fire wall. Looks like that was a pretty good hit and may have more damage than you think.

Will do, but from what I recall, that is all the damage I found. Looks like I will go with frame sectioning and a new support. Thanks for the opinions guys!

I would take it to an a front end alignment shop and see if it's in spec. before i would rule out any more damage farther down the frame rail.......

X2 a body shop with factory frame measurements. How are the door gaps?

Everything else appears straight, including the door gaps. Door gap was even from top to bottom. Rest of the frame appears to be straight, granted it could be off when measured. It looks like the hit came from underneath and not a direct front or corner impact based on how the radiator support is bent as well as the front of the k frame is bent upwards on the front lip.
