The part numbers I'm getting for Bilstein shocks off Ebay for my 68 Barracuda is 55-R092 or BIL55R092 rear shocks and 55-R082 or BIL55R082 front shocks, Summit Racing, Jeg's, Keystone Automotive, none of these places accept that part number in their search box. Does someone have the correct part numbers for these shocks? please.

I just bought a pair of NIB Bilstein rear shocks for my '73 daily. Hope to get them delivered somewhere this weekend.
They will replace a pair of Monroe Sensatrac Loadleveler shocks.

I'm real curious how they will work out.

Hi mvh, thank you, this vendor is the same seller on ebay that I retrieved the part numbers from. My problem is not being able to locate these shocks through a few select sellers, I just can't understand how other performance shop's and venders that sell Bilstein shocks do even recognize those part numbers, even Bilstein's website doesn't acknowledge those part numbers. Which leads me to believe it must be old stock or discontinued product.

Those are the same numbers that are on the Bilstein's I just purchased and installed on my 65' Cuda , a company in El Cajon, Ca. called RCD modifies the shocks from Bilstein to fit the early Mopars and I believe those are RCD part numbers. I purchased mine from PST as they offer a 10% discount for FABO members and free shipping.

Let me know if I can answer any questions on how our members discount works.

Thanks
James

Hi Hemioutlaw, are the shocks you received black or yellow in color?

Do they really make a diffrence? How do they compare to the hochick shocks?

I felt a noticeable difference and really enjoyed the ride. It was a night and day difference. Granted, I did have air shocks in the rear that really couldn't hold air and old worn out shocks up front. Overall I liked the ride. All stock suspension (a lot of the bushings were worn out) for a 273 Dart (0.87" T-bars due to factory AC car) and 205/75/14 tires. I'd assume with a shorter sidewall and a wider contact patch they'd produce a fairly nice ride.

I just upgraded the rear shocks on my daily '73 Dart. Went from Monroe Sensatrac Loadlevelers to Bilsteins. Quite a difference. Some short remarks that came to mind after the first trip with the new shocks; Car feels firmer, more controlled suspensionmovements over speedbumps, feels more secure in corners at speed, modern like handling. Since the Bilsteins don't have a helperspring around them, I would've expected a bit more suspension drop coming off a speedbump, but there's nothing of that at all. The shocks control/dampen the car's downward movement so much better, the springs don't even compress that much, so the springs actually 'feel' a little stronger than before. Another thing which became way more obvious now, is how soft/cheap the front KYB-shocks feel, compared to the rears now. The front now definitly need to be upgraded and for this I've got a set of Hotchkis adjustable shocks coming my way. I tend to think now better shocks will probably take away the 'feeling' I need bigger torsionbars in the car. It has 1" JustSuspension bars at the moment.
