J heads

Original post http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=256550I scored these heads off CL for $120. When I picked them up I saw that port work had been done, looked nice and I was psyched. I disassembled them for inspection, found one head had bronze guides & one did not. They look gasket matched in & out and port work. I sent them to the NAPA machine shop in Albuquerque to get them checked out and ready to go on my 340 instead of the 318. They were magnafluxed and lightly bead blasted around the seats with no cracks found. I was hoping for an improvement over my stock un-ported J heads + a cam swap. I was advised that It would be minimal at best. He said they could do the guides and full valve job but thought I was expecting too much from them and would be disappointed. I decided to change direction & go with some aluminum heads for the 340. So there's the story. J heads are 2.02 I & 1.60 E valves, 3 groove keepers, retainers and springs with dampeners. All marked and bagged to original guide. Casting #s, 3671587 & 3418915. I got $150+ into them. If you can use them I'll take $150. You pay shipping. If I'm off on the $, please tell me. With a little work I think they could be used and enjoyed! I will ship the bare heads separately and the valves w/hardware in a third box. Located in CO 81301. PM me for ship quote. (Shat's heavy) $150 + shipThanks FABO!Larry :glasses7:
