New owner here, picked it up at Mecum in Monterey last month. I've been working the wife for a while to prep her for my mid-life crisis car. She hesitantly agreed, as long as it was a driver. She didn't want a garage queen that no one could touch/drive. Worked for me because the daily driver budget was much more manageable than a show car.

My high school friend's dad had a red '68 Cuda and it was the 1st I'd ever seen of them. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me. Moreso as my friend modified his dad's ride on the sly, up until he rolled it in a tunnel...

When I saw this come up for auction, it was on my short list. I got lucky, winning the bid within the first 15 minutes of the auction. Been spending the last month, enjoying it and sorting out some of the small things just to make it driveable/safe. I'm fighting an intermittent ignition issue but hasn't kept me from enjoying it.

I've got a 30 mile round trip commute and it has replaced my 2007 FJ Cruiser as my daily driver.

Figured it was time to put up a post here since I've had some useful interactions on this board already.

Welcome and nice looking car. Buying a driver is a good thing, I did not and while I'm enjoying working on my project, I'd rather be driving it!!!

Thanks folks. I always considered this car one of those 'fugly' ones, so I'm pretty shocked on the amount positive reactions this car gets. I've gotten stopped, high fives, thumbs up, had 'Barracuda' a la Heart yelled at me on the road, Mopar club fans taking pix at the car wash, guy yelling at me on the road asking me to sell it, etc. All in just a few weeks. Crazy. The wife and I now have a running joke at home. If I were a woman (let's just say cougar) on the prowl, I'd be the belle of the ball w/ all the middle/old aged guys admiring the car.

Here's a few more pix from the sale postings. Registered with the original California black plates.

Welcome to FABO! YEah the fastbacks get a lot of attention at shows and just cruising around town.

My favorite car of all time! I would love to have a ‘68 Barracuda FB, and would give up my '69 Dart for the right one.
