anyone ever use these? They sound like a good permanent repair technique if you add a backer, ie. pipe section under its hose ends. Wonder if they can be used to overlap the hose end to the spud to compensate for a slight deformation of the OD of the tube? I have a stainless EFI regulator hard line to connect to a nylon fuel line but the stainless needed to be cut so I have no bead on it, just a smooth almost round end.

I have not used them. But considered them. They are pretty expensive. And not reusable.

I use ABA clamps. There are other clamps just like them with different brand names. They have a smooth ID without thread holes for hose rubber to squeeze through. Also, the edges are slightly rolled up so as not to dig into the hose.

I've got them on all of the water hoses on my 340 not one leak yet, yes they are not reusable but I hate the way hose clamps look and will not mind replacing them if I have to do any work.

A lot of our big trucks (Freightliners) come with them from the factory. At least once a year, one of our drivers seams to end up waiting for a repair truck because one of these clamps let go. Personally from what I have seen at work, I would not want to be sitting on the side of the road because it failed.

I think momoparman sp? Has used these for quite a while and loves them. There was a thread not too long ago about them.

What kind of mileage is this happening at though?

I use them all the time at work, NEVER a failure! Short haul MACK's and International's. Anywhere from 5/8" heater to 2 3/4" radiator hoses. As mentioned, non reuasble though and they do stop leaks if the connector the hose goes over is not corroded and clean.
