I have a leak. I know that this comes from the shifter but I do not know what to call it to find the necessary gasket.

Where is the leak? You got a cable operated trans. There is a kickdown shaft on top, about 2 inches from that cable entry, pointing straight up. It takes a lipped seal, and they do go bad all the time. Bad thing is you need to pull the pan/valve body or trans to pop it out. Its what that lokar cable is attached to feeding from the rear.

Dead center where the cable is secured by a bolt. Just below the off side of the spring.

There is a shift cable O-ring on the cable adapter, I bet its bad. Remove cable bolt and pull out (watch fluid) I believe the O-ring is around the cable sheath end, youll see it.

The selector shaft seal CAN be changed with the trans in the car. I think KD made the tool I have for removal and installation.

Any suggestions on where to purchase one? I am having no luck finding it.

Are those rubber transmission hoses (err "lines") I see?

I replaced mine bout a month ago. 904 318 69 barracuda. Pull all the linkage out of the way and pry the old one out with a small 4" or so flat blade screwdriver. You should feel 2 steps, clean em real good. Slide the new seal on to the shaft and tap it down with a deep socket, the weight of the socket is plenty for tapping it in tight. Just watch out you don't start it crooked.

Under $6 shipped
