Any of you guys Dukes fans? I was trying to get the original series on DVD from ebay but I keep getting outbid. I cant say I have seen too many episodes but only a few and I remember seeing the Dukes of Hazard re-runs on TV before I was old enough to understand what I was looking at as a small kid (I was born in 1986 so by the mid 90s it was all re-runs)

Then later I saw the Dukes movie with Johnny Knoxville and Jessica simpson. Absolutely loved the new movie and I bought my own copy on DVD especially being a total Johnny Knoxville fan, the movie had my interest.

I have and cherish the mopar collectors guide issue where they featured Bo duke and a General lee charger with a 511 HEMI .....great stuff. I believe the Dukes are piece of history and I can see why people were into it when it was new.

I absolutely love the Dukes! I have all kinds of memorabilia including autographs of Rosco and Enos but no autographs from the Dukes. I have all the seasons on DVD, both reunion movies and all the current movies. I was born in 83 and didnt get to see them on Friday nights at 7 on CBS. But I watched them on TNN before it was Spike TV and now on CMT

I even have an 01 in my Mopar sleeve, gettin ready to add some more Dukes to my tattoo soon

I don't remember for sure but I am thinking they showed re-runs on nick at nite. I remember a lot of nick at nite because my parents were (still are) strict about clean TV in the house and they used to allow me to watch nick at nite unlimited. So I am thinking that is where I saw a few re-runs.

Here is a plastic mug that I would guess came out of a lunch box that I had John and Catherine sign a few years back

Good luck finding the series set

I watched it every week when it was one and not reruns, one of my favorite series at the time

The Dukes reruns are still shown on CMT, but I am not sure of the schedule. I see them once in a while at my parent's house. I loved the show when it was brand new, and still do. Last year I was a Petty Fest, and they had two of the original three close up General Lees in the car show that day. Under the hood the entire cast had signed them. Really cool. There were three really nice cars for close up shots and the rest were bondo patched for stunts etc.

There is a guy in a small town close to me who shows his General Lee and its the only factory 4 speed to ever be in the show and its documented, with hand painted decals and everyone has signed the engine bay. Its pretty sweet, I have taken lots of pocs of it everytime i have seen it.

I grew up watching that on TV in the late seventies early eighties. It was on Friday nights before Dallas. I remember me and a crazy friend of mine swearing we could jump the Schuylkill river at the Hanover street bridge in a 69 Charger with a 440. We were going to actually get a charger and build it and attempt it. We had plans of building a ramp in the middle of the night and doing it. I am glad we grew up and never tried. We believed it could be done though and we were set to prove it LOL!!

Yeah I'm one of the Dukes fans.... Oh, them too...

John Schneider was at mopar nats a couple of times. he had tent and signed dukes shirts, ( still got mine!) LOL! seems to be genuine cool guy!
MCG had article years ago about a guy that had the opportunity to go to LA and buy the remaining cars from the show. they could probably tell ya the issue and m aybe have one they;d sell.
yea the Dukes is still a cult deal probably!!!!! lots of juvenile stuff on their show, but it was directly at a young audience!!!! they used to have a "get to gether every year at " kooters???)

yea John Wayne is "THE DUKE!!!!"

..................I love the Dukes, I have a t shirt and a couple metal model cars from back then, even a plastic model......kim.....

DoH was probably one of the very first real shows I liked... I would have been almost 7 when it started. I probably saw every episode when it first aired. I remember being crushed and disappointed at the start of the Coy & Vance season (but I watched anyway). I still have my General Lee model from back then. It needs work to get it back together, but it's not in bad shape considering it was in the bottom of a box for almost 30 years.

I bought all the seasons on DVD last year, and I'm almost through season 3 with my son. It was the first show he really liked also. Even when he was only one-and-a-half, he'd stop and just stare at the screen and occasionally yell "fast car! fast car!" The show was really good back then, and today I appreciate it because it's good clean (mostly) fun, something my son and I can enjoy together without worrying too much.

Oh yeah, I had the lunchbox back then too... I think I had the Hardy Boys one first, which was then replaced by the Dukes one! Wish I still had both of them.

I have 3 or 4 cents worth on this topic...

I did see the original run of the show.
Amazing how corny it seems through older and wiser eyes.

Despite bad reviews from nearly everyone-
I think they did a GREAT job with the latest movie.
It actually felt true to the original show, and was possible a bit less corny.
The chase scenes were GREAT, as well. ON par with much more serious films, IMO.

I actually have a bit of love/hate for this franchise.
It brought Mopars/Chargers back into the spotlight, but-
It also stereotyped them to a hick mentality.
...and helped cause them to be nearly unobtainable to us common folks.
The show contributed both to increased demand, and decreased supply!
To this day, I prefer the 68 or 70, in an attempt to avoid the stigma.

I grew up in Ohio, and actually grew up with cousins from Kentucky.
At one time one of them owned a Charger. Later they both owned 78 trans ams.
They pronounced it "tram zam". Seriously!

I forgot about the movies. The big one with Jessica Simpson was good. I have all of them, including the other 4 or 5 on DVD too, but haven't ever watched them. I even bought the version of Collier & Co. signed by John Schneider. I wouldn't mind meeting him, Tom and Catherine.

I just checked Amazon... it seems the prices on the box sets are higher than when I bought them, or I paid more than I remember. The movies are all still really cheap though, especially in the versions with 2 movies together.

Yea I forgot I have Collier & Co. It wasnt all that great, but I own it. I also own the only movie Catherine Bach played in that she got topless!, Its called Crazed.

Catherine Bach for decades shunned the stigma of the dukes.

However, recently she has embraced it.

Not everyone gets an article of clothing named after them, that is recognizable instantly regardless of brand.

Glad she's OK with that now.

...and did anyone else hear that the family of John Wayne is suing Duke University because they claim they own the rights to the name "Duke".

Really? That's kinda pathetic.

might I ad, having been born and raised in the deep south, lived in Missouri last 30 odd years..... I am never ceased to be amazed how the TV and movies stereotype the people of the south!?????? and hardly ever accurately????

Look on amazon ! They have them

If I would trust anyone's explained of the deep South,Would be Rusty Rat Rod. He calls as he sees it, and doesn't back off.

Oh,forgot... Watched the series.(the replacements sucked ***,no one replaces Catherine Bach's legs,in the eyes of a young dude, then). The newer movie:The stunts ,are insane (too perfect?) .Loved Knoxville for the Luke role, kicked ***. The perfect Bo to match for me: Vince Vaughn.....)
Still watch it time to time. To the OP,an outside thought: google " Dukes of Hazzard series stuntmen" . Sorry, for the long flog,I grew up with this.
