So, I have a set of 14" Rallye wheels for sale. I've advertised them locally as "make offer" but they are still sitting here. How come? Asking too much?

They are large-bolt pattern, in fair shape, sold without rings or caps. Located in Huntsville, Al. I am not going to ship them. Pick up only.

$80 firm.

Thanks.

Well, I've tried here and CL to sell these wheels with no luck, despite that ANYWHERE else someone would ask at least $100 for them as-is.

Therefore, it is going to be with great pleasure that I will put them out by the street this evening with free on them either for a car guy to snag or the metal guy to snag, bothers me not one whit which.

I better not hear ANYBODY say "I wish you would have let me know about those, yadda yadda"..or "I can't find any Rallye wheeeeeeeeeeelssss. here they were, you should have contacted me earlier:headbang:

That right there is the biggest problem. Don't take much to drop 4 wheels off at UPS, let them do their thing, and add it to the shipping charges. They will even give you an amount before they do anything. If you can't be bothered to venture past your driveway to drop these off at a shipper, why should you expect me to drive 800 miles to pick them up? Ain't happening...

the problem with shipping is that once someone agrees to pay the $80 for them you then take them to where you are going to ship them from to get a quote (normally i have to have to pay to have them boxed because i don't have rim boxes laying around usually). ya get said quote and maybe pay to have them boxed up. you go home let the potential buyer know the shipping cost, once potential buyer hears they will be about $35 each without tires (another expense to have the tires taken off the rims) the buyer says no i don't want them now..

i see why he doesn't want to ship them. not worth the time money or aggravation to do so..

.

I hope if a car guy snags them, he is willing to ship them. I would definitely be interested!

if you are willing to pay the $80 plus the $140 its going to cost to ship them plus whatever it costs to get the tires off the rims i'm sure he could be convinced to ship them..

you are looking at $220 + whatever it costs to get the tires off and boxing them up..

I ship rims all the time via USPS. Roll them in cardboard and tape them up good. I recently sent a pair from Tennessee to California and the tab was $36

ok if you are gonna pack them like that its still $70 for all four plus whatever it costs to take the tires off..
