4688172088 This is posted on craigslist in Austin, Tx and when I contacted him he told someone told him it was not a mopar. So I am trying to make sure before I buy it. I've asked himfor the number on the side of block.

Thanks

Can you try again with a little more clarity? I'm not 100% sure what you're asking.

Link maybe?

That's not a Mopar. It's barely worth scrap weight too. It may be a 360 AMC but I'm only a little sure.

yup cheap junk 360 amc engine

Short block is an automotive term for an engine sub-assembly. A short block is the portion of the cylinder block below the head gasket but above the oil pan. An in-block cam engine includes the camshaft, timing gear, and any balance shafts. Overhead cam engines don't include those parts.

Lol, I always thought a short block consisted of block, pistons, rods and crank. Long block would have the heads.

I see the end of a crank and pistons. That makes it a short block in my book. An AMC short block and not a "mobar".

You've found the engine. Now if you can come up with a Gremlin to go with it, you're set... :blob:
