got a request for some seat brackets from member 2734bbl. he is mounting an aftermarket seat in his 67 dart and supplied me with a sketch. here is what i got so far.

gonna put em in my home made brake this weekend and have em finished up.

Looking great! Can't wait to see finished product. What gauge aluminum are you using?

Those available at Summit wouldn't work ?

Lookin good man ,Cant wait to get 'em.

I think I may have run a set of used Wrangler seats down in nice shape so I can go ahead and get them in the car so I can at least sit in it and make noises and turn the wheel !

Maybe so. Maybe he could pay for a generic part made outside the U.S. But isn't it kinda cool that guys clear across the country from eachother have the same passion and are working together to achieve a goal? Even though they are complete strangers?

Well put!!

I didn't know Summit sold "Super Stock" style brackets?

It doesn't matter though, once I saw the ones being made for me I had my mind made up that I wanted them. I know a couple of other places make them too but I just liked the look of these.

I also like the fact that the cash is going to a member here for his craftsmanship.

thanks man. i will have them done today and will get pics posted and provide you with tracking info!

I have a couple of pieces from this young man on my Dart, and I can tell you one thing- he has talent!!

I got the brackets in and they look great. I think they will do exactly what I need them to do.

In the next week or so Ill get them in the car and get a couple pics up.

Wrangler seats, huh?

I got my seats from an '85 Jeep Scrambler. Not-so distant cousins of the Bostrum A100 van seats. Like the van seats, the Scrambler seats are fixed as well, just a higher back. Lighter than the A100 seats too! The entire seat/bracket combination weighs 22lbs. Seriously!

Here's the seat re-upholstered.

I mounted repro '68 race hemi seat brackets under them.

Sorry for the hijack. Just sounded familiar.

I would like a set of those for my 69 dart. will they work with the factory bucket seats. are they adjustable or stationary. and last but not least what is the cost.

No Hijack at all. Those are great pics BTW !

I planned on using the low back version like the one in your pic.

Aftermarket Jeep seats are wwwaaaayyy cheaper than trying to chase down A100 seats and have them redone.

Thanks.

I've had the A100 seats for a long time, since the 90s. They are actually NOS if you can believe that. The guy I bought them from had several sets but I only took one pair. Not to swift on my part because I think I gave him $140. He threw in a NOS steering box too. They had the adjustable seat base risers for the vans which were in perfect condition. I tried to utilize the sliders with the Jeep seats but I abandoned the idea, it wasn't worth the effort.

I got the Jeep seats from where I used to work - I was a tech at a Jeep dealership. The owner had all sorts of ancient, decrepit vehicles around including the Scrambler. He installed some new seats in it and just set the old ones behind our lunch table. I saw them and asked what he was doing with them and he said take 'em. I did a double take when I first saw them, I thought they looked just like the A100 seats. He thought I was nuts, I think he thought they were junk. Not sure why he didn't toss 'em in the dumpster. Lucky for me I guess.

Got the seat covers off Ebay. The OE seat covers were a breathable material so if they got wet they would dry out quickly. The foam on them is not very dense, probably so they didn't absorb moisture and hold it in like a sponge. Probably why they are so light.

I had a lot of experience with Jeep seat covers actually. We had an ongoing recall for the late 90's early 00's Grand Cherokees with heated seats. The elements would burn up and literally burn people's asses. We had to take the seats out and take the covers off to replace the elements. I was OK at it, I could do 'em in like 45 minutes if I hustled, I think we would get an hour for it? PITA with the hog rings and such.

Good luck with your seats, post pics when you get them installed.

I know watcha mean there. I used to work at an all Chrysler/Jeep salvage and fixed a few of those. Saw them where the wires would pull out of the element from the seat bun being crushed down over time too.

I have a '98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited and the driver seat stopped working but I haven't messed with it.

As far as the Wrangler seats that's one thing I noticed as well was they are pretty lightweight compared to factory style seats.

I'm sure Youngun will answer this when he sees your post or just PM him and he will get back with you.

The brackets are fixed position but you can drill the holes in them anywhere you like to get the seat where you need it to be.

He has another thread on here that has a pic of the brackets installed on what look like stock A body seats.
