Demon fold seat

I guess someone added it, cause it is a 71 Demon

It looks like a '71 Demon, but that doesn't mean that it is. If I were you, I would be checking to make sure all of my VIN stamps match. At the very least, I'd check the dash, core support, and the package tray. All should have partial VIN stamps.

It's easier to turn a Duster or Dart sport into a Demon than it is to do a factory appearing fold down seat conversion. I know, My '74 Duster will look like a '71 Demon in the very near future, and swapping the tail panel and bolting on a new front clip is much easier than doing the full fold down conversion. I swapped the tail panel on my car already, and even "cheating" to install the fold down seat (I didn't swap the package tray), the tail panel was easier to do.

You can see what I mean in this thread, where I detailed my fold down conversion...

I would definitely check the VIN that stamped on the package tray. It's very easy to check on a fold down car, just fold the seat down and look up at the bottom of the package tray. It should be pretty easy to spot.

These pictures below show the fold down package tray. It's by far the hardest part to swap if you were to do a full fold down conversion, which is why I didn't swap mine out. If your car is a Demon that was converted, the package tray is the first thing I would check to see if it appears stock. If it does, then the VIN on the package tray probably doesn't match the dash or the core support.

I'm not saying that your Demon couldn't have been converted to a fold down, but I would definitely want to verify all of the VIN numbers to show it really is a Demon. '71 Demon's are far more popular than 73+ Dusters or Dart Sports, and there are half a dozen, maybe more, conversions or conversions in progress on this site alone- with my car being one of them. I even have '71 doors to swap onto my car. When I'm done, it will be very hard to tell my car isn't a '71 from the outside, and easy enough to confuse even from the inside details. But the VIN's will still all match and show its a '74 Duster. Since a '71 Demon is worth a bunch more than a converted '73+ car, I would be want to be positive all the VIN's matched, with the possible exception of the one on the package tray. But you should be able to check the dash, core support, package tray, door sticker, fender tag, and maybe the rear trunk channel. Obviously, the dash tag and fender tag can be removed, and the door tags are sometimes removed or painted over when cars are repainted.
