I think that's what sensor it is...it threads into the oil filter housing at the back. I assume it's necessary for my retrofit, but the TTI conversion mounts want to share the same real estate. Can I relocate it to one of the plugged holes above the filter?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I didn't see that this was for a new gen hemi....

Its oil pressure, and depending on if you are forced to use a filter relocation you can use the other hole or T into a line. If using an aftermarket efi you can just block it I believe, since they don't care about oil pressure. But to use a gauge to read oil pressure you still need a source.

Another TTI engine mount " issue"... LOL!

To help with the subject - I used a brass T piece threaded into the front oil TEMP port....but tjat may not work if you use a sedan alternator - I used a Jeep alt which mount in a different position.

Using the oil line auxilliary ports like you are asking is not practical- the thread size is much much larger.

Nope. That one pictured is fine. The one I'm dealing with is 3/8" NPT, and it is in the rear of the aluminum oil filter housing....

Actually the top is oil "in" and bottom is oil "out" but they're both pressurized when the engine is running.

If you prime the oil pump from the lower port....surely thats oil " in" ???

What am I missing?
Yes you do, that port is to prime oil pump. The top one is to prime the engine. Those ports are used for a remote filter or cooler if needed, kinda slick really. So the bottom one would be "from pump" or "out/to filter/cooler" and the top one is "from filter/cooler" or "in". With the bottom one plugged and a pressure sender in the top, you would be reading oil pressure AFTER the filter if the filter is in the stock location is the only difference.

And am I correct in assuming that that is an oil temperature sensor? What purpose does it serve from the injection side of things?

It's pressure not temp. If using a factory ecu I'm not sure if it needs it or not.

Then I'm REALLY confused, cause the oil pressure sender threads into the front of the block (cast iron ) and is 1/8 NPT. What I pulled out of the back of the aluminum filter housing is 3/8 NPT and looks like a coolant temperature sensor, but it's in oil. Why would there be 2 oil pressure sending units?

Another header related headache. Soooo typical here huh ? Anyway...
A long time ago, GM installed a single oil sender with more than one wire attached. It operated a warning lamp or gauge but also told the ECM "no oil, prevent start, hold check engine light on". When the engines got well worn and top end oil pressure dropped, that sender caused a lot of head scratching.
Since a gauge should report top end oil, these 2 signals really should come from 2 different locations. So.. My guess is there are 2 oil senders with separate purposes.
Vehicles, they are all the same just different.
If I'm correct and you find you could delete that sender, ( I look forward to learning here ), Your next question is "Should I ?"

One is an oil pressure sender - the other is a oil temp sender z- the factory manual confirms this.

The pressure sender is 1/8 npt - the oil temp sender is a larger thread.

I cant recall if I left my oil temp sender disconnected or plugged the port - either way I ran my oil light and gauge off the front 1/8 npt port as per my pic.

Redfish- This isn't a header issue...yet!lol This is an interference issue between the sensor and the conversion mounts for my car. We'll find out about header issues later...

I'm not keen on removal. I prefer the relocation idea, myself...

Those plugged holes above the oil filter are 3/8" npt and you can use both of them for whatever oil reading you desire.
