Thank you, I was beginning to feel like the Lone Ranger, in here.
I guess I tend to step into it as I am very honest about my car and questions. The one time I posted facetiously, in post #19, everyone seemed to take it as gospel and jumped all over me.

I figure others can learn from my mistakes and some of my mistakes are whoppers, so I post them so others may learn from my screw ups. Now maybe I should stop adding touches of humor or my screw ups, and only glean the information that helps me and not offer anything to others.

I have had a Kwik Lift for a few years and love. Very well built and very safe. My initial plan was to get the motor and drivetrain done and then sell it? I have made a couple of modifications to allow the use of a winch to get the onto it when it's not running.

If you'd like so,e more info send me a PM

I would love to see your winch set up
We have had one for a few years now and it sucks having to push a car up on it.
The only reason we can even get it up on the lift is for the fact it has no engine or transmission if it had either of those there would be no way to do it

It is also great to keep rearends under the front sections of the ramps and out of the way

Hey Pawned,
Not everyone is knocking ya. We've all bit the big one before. If anyone tells ya other, I believe they are .........., well you know. Hell, when I started working on my cars I screwed up 3 automatics and went to a stick before I learned anything.
I do see a lot of good lift ideas coming so the I think the thread definitely worthy.
Hang in there!

Well, you posted this in the OP.

I am trying to find the link for this lift as I am tired of the Duster falling off the jacks. The other night it fell again. Both times as a result of the car shifting on the way up. This time there was no damage and scared the hell out of me.

IMO, this is where the comments are coming from.

If the car is falling, you are going about it incorrectly.

I use stands and a floor jack all the time. What I do is jack from the center, under the K frame and lift both front wheels at once, place my stands and move to the rear, jack under the center of the diff and raise it, place stands.

Once you do this, then you can move back to the front and go up a little more, and then to the back.

You CANNOT jack one corner or one side, place a stand and then move to another corner or the other side, the car will shift. Once the car is up on stands, all four corners, I give it a good shake to make sure it's stable before crawling under it.

I know this doesn't help in the search for a lift, but if it's only going to be used minimally then it seems like a big expense to me.

A good heavy lift floor jack and 4 good, tall, heavy stands will get the job done.

I have owned a quicklift for 7 years and love it, it puts the car at an ideal height for working on brakes, suspensions or if you want to remove rust proofing from underside. And unlike a post lift you don't lose floor space, when not using the quicklift fold the rear legs up and remove the front legs and lay the main ramp on the floor and park right on ramp, you don't have to find a place to store it.
