I need to find the windshield lockstrip that is visible on the lower part of the windshield weatherstrip for a 68 cuda convertible.Does anybody know where these can be found.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Rick

I saw them the other night on one of the resto sites (I don't remember which one). Seemed expensive (about $100 as I recall).

IN-CM8, Convertible 1-piece windshield lockstrip, 67-69 A-body, replaces part# 2839148, $189.00 plus shipping.

If you want a better look you can use a standard piece of lower trim from a 68-69 a body and make a slight modification to each end. The results are 100x better than stock. Use standard trim clips placed in the same positions as a hard top.

Remember reading somewhere where someone used a piece of coaxial cable to fill void in rubber gasket to sustain as modified lock strip... then covered with standard trim as stated above.
Correct me if wrong- but dont you need something in that bottom part of gasket to hold glass in?

Yes as they have the groove for the lock strip where the hard top gaskets dont. As stated before, you can install something in the groove under the trim and make it work.....anything can be made to work if your ingenious enough!

I used the chrome from a dodge pickup also used the round rubber strip from the pickup seal. These modifications are not for everyone but they look much better than original.
