360 oil pan "rub" spot?

Terry is correct. The Milodon pan 396 used won't work on a 360 due to different main bearing sizes. My '65 valiant has a 318 out of a '87 5Th Avenue that had a stock for the engine pan and it hit on the drivers side only. Measure from the flywheel cover forward 3", make a mark, then go to 6 1/2" forward and make another mark. About half way between the marks and at a 45 degree angle heat the pan slightly and, using a length of half inch pipe, give it a bash. You want a recess that is about 3/4" deep. It goes without saying you hit it at the point where it makes the bend from vertical to horizontal. Sorry, Swing 69, re-read your posts and saw you are using a Milidon pan. My comments are for stock pans only.
