no idea what forum to post this in so I'll start with Mopar Performance. here's the thing, when I was in high school I got my first mopar. a 1974 scamp with a pretty hot 340 for a streetcar. basic hot rod stuff, y'know, real lumpy cam, headers, hi-rise 4 barrel, shift kit, blah blah blah. anyways, I fell in love with mopar. so much so that I got the plymouth heart tattooed on one wrist and the "M" on the other. but mopar wasn't the only thing I fell in love with. I'm a weird one, fellas. I'm a sick, disgusting, twisted combination of old school hot rodder and new school tuner. I appreciate both ends of the spectrum. my second love is for drifting. I know I know, typical young adult in this day and age, right? but hey, I enjoy it.

here's the shakedown, my fellow mopar lovers, I'm sick and tired of ls1 this, 2jz that, ls7 in one of these, corvette engine in this. I've got my hands dirty and built a few mopar engines and trannies and now I want to combine my love for mopar and my love for slingin' it sideways. this isn't a real thing yet just looking for input. right now, the bare essentials of it, a Nissan 240sx, probably an s13 hatchback or an s14 kouki if I can find one cheap, a ground pounding 340, and a dakota or ram 5 speed. I know it won't hold up but that's the best I can think of for now as I don't want to drift an automatic.

anyways, I want to birth the worlds first mopar powered, evil, mean, wicked, and nasty Nissan 340sx (nice play on the name, right?)

sorry for the insanely long intro, but thoughts?

also, I know the small block chrsler is a lot heavier than an all aluminum LS, which is going to throw off the cars almost 50/50 weight distribution, but I learned how to drift in a v6 s10, so I'm used to more weight over the nose.

Sounds pretty cool another member on here swapped 318 into a late '80s conquest I think it was

Exactly who would want an LS anything which can give you plenty of power and good gas mileage when you can have a cast iron gas guzzler with a huge amount of power for a huge amount of money... I'm with ya kid, go for it...

Go for it! How gives a frack?!?! Do it up!

I think somebody on here done beat ya to it over a year ago, cant think of his name on here right off hand but I will remember it in a bit.

Ah screw it he should use an LS so he can fit in and be just like the thousands of other chebby guys with no creativity or fab skills who have done the exact same thing

Seems like it was an RX7 with a 360 in it that was on here awhile ago.

Last time I checked you could whateva ya wanted with your $$$

Wouldn't be for me but I have found that most people could care less about my opinion

240SX demand a mint even for a beater here in So. Cal. Rx-7's are much cheaper. Id love to do a 510 with an SRT-4 motor.
LB Drift championships, most were LS powered, few were 6 and 1 was rotary. Quite a few 240's in the lower divisions too. There were passengers in most of these for a free ride.

When I first saw the initial post I was expecting the worst (Nissan into Mopar)
But flipped is be cool and different. Just slap a big blue M on the car somewhere. If you run into problems, post up and I'm sure you'll get help.

Is a 70's Dodge Colt too small?

We built an RX7 with a mild 340/727 & 8 3/4 combo back in the late 70's or early 80's. It was a street screamer & a drag strip nightmare. We had a lot of fun with it until we sold it and the buyer put two stages of NOs in it & proceeded to wrap it around a tree. I wish I had the space to try something like that again.

That's a lotta cast iron on the front suspension. What type suspension are you gonna use?

Alright, so the build has gone a totally different direction. I got a KILLER deal on one of two cars, my choice which one. both are beat on enough for me to not feel bad about choppin' on it and kickin it sideways at risk of hitting walls. I'll start a new thread for the build.
