I tried to look but was unable to find anything on using a 9.25 rear end in a early a body

Has anyone installed or know if its feasible to install a 9.25 rear end in a 65 wagon? I would prefer a 8.75 but due to the price I'm looking for other options perhaps a 9" or a 8.8 from a a ford?
I have the 9.25 in my 78 dodge w100 I am selling the truck and if it doesn't sell whole I was going to part it out and keep the rear end for the dart.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

The issue with using a 9-1/4 in an A body is shortening the rears cost. By the time your done paying people to shorten it, you can have a 8-3/4 in there.

An 8-1/4 is reasonably strong. It'll handle 400HP. No problem.

I'm not sure what it cost to have a housing narrowed around you but here its only $125 however, I'm not sure what new axles would cost.

I do know around here everyone think the 8-3/4 is gold and most appear to asking in the $2000+ range for a complete assembly in good condition but half the time they have the small bolt pattern axles so I would still have to buy new axles

I do like the idea of using the ford 8.8 rear end from a explorer I actually have one narrowed already that I was going to put in my 34 Chevy.
