I was looking through eBay at other 67 notchbacks, and I saw an almost-rectangular emblem with a Barracuda located high in the center of the back seat. Is this typical for all 67 notchbacks -- or just certain trim packages? If it was original on my car, I'd like to put it back.

I saw the item itself on eBay and it looks like there are 2 studs on the back for mounting. The back piece of metal on my car has two holes. I know the emblem mounts on the indented upholstery and connects somehow. Would the emblem studs mount directly to this metal piece, or is there some kind of bracket that goes between the emblem and the back piece of metal?

The coverings on my back seat are pretty shot. I can't really tell what was original.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

I believe it was standard equipment on all cudas except the verts. There is a back chrome mounting piece as well. I have one or 2 at home, just not sure where I would have to get the wife to dig for it.

I think you might be looking at a fastback part. Their rear seat folds forward and there is a release lever mechanism attached behind that large metal medallion. This wasn't found in notch or vert.

With respect to the fastback, you guys are correct. But I also think that it is used is in a notchback. It's located in the same place, looks identical, but it is non-functional.

If it's in a notchback someone besides factory put it there. I've considered "frenching" one into the center of a verts seat back. Still have the fastback part here for this. A lot of work involved, includes altering seat frame and upholstery.

X2 I have owned 3 notches and 1 vert. Never seen it in there before. Just reviewed every available notchback on ebay and none have the fish medallion. You may be confused or have been looking at a fastback.

I'm sure you guys are right. The first time I saw one was in some eBay interior photos. I thought it was a notchback, but it must have been a fastback.

On the good side, that's one less part I have to deal with.

Thanks.
